Meet Jonathan Schechter of Acworth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Schechter.

Hi Jonathan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hospitality is the meaning of life- to be kind, selfless, & gracious to strangers is humanity’s path to world peace. I learned this at an early age from a mother who is a compassionate social activist, and the epitome of benevolence.

My love for food and wine led me to the bright lights of Atlanta, where the adrenaline rush & gentle roar of a bustling dining room captured my imagination and led me to seek those who had mastered the art. I found myself drawn to the empire of Atlanta fine-dining patriarch Pano Karatassos; with tenures at Chops Lobster Bar, Pricci, and Bistro Niko, I became more well-rounded in European cuisine & viticulture, and was able to use this momentum to make Zagat’s “30 under 30” list for up & coming restauranteurs.

With several new restaurant openings across my career, I’ve learned that the true essence of a successful restaurant is not simply the menu & decor: modern logistics have made high quality ingredients available to all chefs, and expensive finishes are available to anyone with deep pockets… The true essence of hospitality is found in our staff’s innate ability to feed our guest’s soul, with both pre-meditated and spontaneous acts of kindness. This is the magic of hospitality, in it’s purest form.

Find Jonathan at his new project with chef/owner Kevin Chung on the shores of Lake Allatoona, AG Steakhouse where they’ve become OpenTable’s highest rated steakhouse in Georgia! www.AGsteakhouse.com
