Hi Dexter, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hoops On Wheels started with a simple but important goal, as a father, I wanted to create something meaningful for my sons. I didn’t just want to tell them about hard work, responsibility, and ownership, I wanted them to experience it firsthand.
Like many parents, I saw how easy it is for kids to grow up without understanding how business really works. I wanted to remove that barrier and give them a real opportunity to learn early, in a way that felt exciting, hands-on, and something they could truly be proud of.
So we built Hoops On Wheels together.
As a family-run business, I founded Hoops On Wheels alongside my teenage sons, Zay and Antonio. Together, we’re not just building a business, we’re building life skills, discipline, and a foundation for the future.
What started as an idea has grown into a mobile basketball arcade experience that brings people together, kids, families, and communities. Whether we’re set up outdoors with our trailer or inside at an event, our goal is always the same: create a fun, safe space where people can connect, compete, and enjoy the moment.
But beyond the events, this business is about something bigger. It’s about building a foundation, creating a path toward generational wealth and showing my sons what’s possible when you take an idea and turn it into something real.
We’re still growing, still learning, and still figuring things out along the way, but we’re building it together, and that’s what makes it special.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but that’s part of the journey.
Starting a business from the ground up means learning everything in real time, from operations and marketing to customer experience and logistics. There have been challenges with building awareness, finding the right opportunities, and making sure every event runs at a high level.
We’ve also had to learn how to balance time, especially as a family-run business where we’re involved in every part of the process.
But each challenge has helped us grow. Every event teaches us something new, and we continue to improve and refine how we operate. The process hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.
We’ve been impressed with Hoops On Wheels, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hoops On Wheels is a mobile, interactive basketball experience designed to bring high-energy fun to events of all kinds. We specialize in both outdoor trailer setups and indoor non-trailer setups, allowing us to adapt to different venues and event types.
We focus on creating a safe, engaging environment where guests of all ages can participate, compete, and enjoy the experience. From birthday parties and school events to corporate setups and community festivals, we bring an interactive element that draws people in and keeps them engaged.
What sets us apart is the experience we create. We’re not just providing equipment, we’re bringing energy, structure, and excitement to every event while offering the flexibility to accommodate both small and large spaces.
What we’re most proud of is building this as a family. Hoops On Wheels represents growth, opportunity, and the foundation for something that can be passed down and expanded over time.

Consistency is the foundation of our growth. We show up prepared, deliver high-energy, well-organized experiences, and continuously refine our approach with every event. Our focus is to ensure each booking is seamless, engaging, and memorable for every group we serve.
