Life & Work with Nick Laureano of Brockton, MA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Laureano.

Hi Nick, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey started as wanting to originally be an actor until life’s many challenges steered me on a different path.

That path I embarked was becoming a public speaker of mental health and mindset. I struggled personally with my own depression and self doubt which led me astray for a better part of life. I found my calling to speak life into those who refuse to quit and keep going.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never a smooth road. There will be many potholes and speed bumps in the road. The key is to stay on it even when you feel like giving up.

My biggest struggle was making sure I saw in myself what others saw in me. Reminding myself no matter how hard things get to stay focused and disciplined to bettering my life.

Depression and identity were two of my biggest hurdles. Recognizing why I was stuck and how I’d get unstuck. Looking at myself in the mirror and loving what I see instead of constantly self sabotaging myself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in public speaking. My two main areas of focus are mental health and mindset.

I who dealt with numerous up and down hill battles with mental health.. I wanted to be a voice for the voiceless. Speaking life into those who knew they belonged but couldn’t comprehend if they did. Helping them feel seen, heard and valued as I longed for in my earlier period of life.

I’m most proud of being a 2x award winner for my work in this profession. I never in my wildest imagination thought I’d be recognized. I came from a tough background where you had to live up to your name.

I feel what sets me apart from others is that I am uniquely me. I bring something different to the table. My energy, my aura, my way of speaking, and way of connection with those I speak too. That’s what makes us all unique.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very reserved and timid kid. I had a huge stuttering issue growing up and never could speak throughly in front of people.

As I was the well known kid, I was also the one who got bullied a lot. Constantly being over looked and not appreciated. That’s where a ton of mental health related issues came about.

I had a huge love for sports which was my therapy and escape from the issues I was facing in life. Without it, I wouldn’t be who I am today.

I was always the energetic, joking and kind type. Wanted to see everyone happy and bring out the best of my inner circle.
