I’ve (Jahlil Michael Ballard Campbell) been in the field of music all my life but since the age of nine I’ve been rapping and writing lyrics. In the early 2000’s I started a company called the 80 Babiez Movement then eventually switched the name to LAD (Living The American Dream) Society. Since starting this company I’ve been releasing music on a consistent basis. At this point my company has amassed 100 millions of streams worldwide.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to success definitely hasn’t been the smoothest road because I’ve always been a independent artist and you have to work twice as hard to garner any type of success when conducting business independently in the music business. The main struggles are basically finding ways to make profit as a independent artist, the opportunities aren’t always the same and are not the most beneficial compared to being a artist who is dealing with major companies in the field of music.
