Hi Nikerria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the life insurance industry didn’t start from a place of comfort, it started from a place of necessity, growth, and faith. Like many people, I was navigating personal challenges and major life transitions, trying to create stability for myself while also figuring out my purpose.

I was introduced to the life insurance space at a time when I needed both financial opportunity and something that felt meaningful. What stood out to me wasn’t just the income potential, but the impact. Being able to educate families, help them protect what matters most, and build generational security.

In the beginning, it wasn’t easy. I had to learn the industry from the ground up; understanding policies, building confidence in my knowledge, and developing the discipline it takes to succeed in a commission-based environment. There were moments of doubt, slow production periods, and times where I had to push through stress and uncertainty. But those moments shaped me. They taught me resilience, consistency, and how to trust both the process and myself.

As I grew, I became more than just a broker, I became an advocate. I take pride in making sure my clients truly understand what they’re investing in, because this industry isn’t just about selling policies, it’s about protecting legacies and building trust.

Today, I’m in a position where I’ve built not only a career, but a sense of purpose. I’ve learned how to navigate challenges with strength, maintain integrity in my work, and continue growing both personally and professionally. My journey is still unfolding, but every step has been about becoming more grounded, more knowledgeable, and more impactful.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My journey has come with its share of challenges, both professionally and personally.

Building a career in life insurance, especially in a commission-based environment, requires a level of discipline and mental strength that you don’t fully understand until you’re in it.

There were seasons where my production was low or no production at all for that matter. Not because I lacked ability, but because I was navigating real-life circumstances behind the scenes; stress, transitions, and moments of uncertainty. Trying to stay focused and perform at a high level while handling personal challenges wasn’t easy.

Another struggle was overcoming doubt; both internal and external. There are a lot of misconceptions about this industry, and I had to build confidence in what I do while also educating others. Rejection is part of the process, and learning not to take it personally took time.

Consistency was also a major lesson for me. This career doesn’t reward you for what you do occasionally, it rewards you for what you do consistently. I had to develop habits, structure, and resilience, even on days when I didn’t feel motivated.

But every challenge shaped me. It strengthened my mindset, deepened my faith, and taught me how to keep going even when things felt uncertain. So no, it hasn’t been smooth but it’s been purposeful, and that’s what makes the journey worth it.

I am the founder of SecureLife by Nikerria, a brand built on the foundation of protection, education, and legacy. Through my business, I specialize in helping individuals and families create financial security through life insurance and strategic protection planning. My goal is not just to provide coverage, but to help my clients understand how to use life insurance as a tool to protect their income, build generational wealth, and leave a lasting legacy.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, my vision is centered on growth, impact, and expansion. I’m focused on scaling my business in a way that allows me to reach more families, educate more communities, and continue raising awareness about the importance of financial protection and legacy planning.

One of my biggest goals is to expand beyond one-on-one services and step more into education; through workshops, digital content, and platforms that allow me to teach on a larger scale. I want to make life insurance and financial literacy more accessible, especially to communities that have historically been underserved or misinformed.

I’m also looking forward to building a stronger brand presence; positioning SecureLife by Nikerria not just as a service, but as a trusted name in the industry. That includes potential partnerships, mentorship opportunities, and eventually helping develop other brokers who want to build their own success with integrity.

On a personal level, I’m committed to continued growth; mentally, spiritually, and professionally. I believe that as I grow, my business grows with me.

The future for me is about elevation; doing bigger work, making a greater impact, and continuing to build something that not only changes my life, but the lives of the people I serve.
