Meet DJ Ms. Eclectic of Atlanta, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Ms. Eclectic.

Hi DJ, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been a part of who I am. Growing up in Texas with a mother who was a classically trained vocalist and Minister of music, I was surrounded by Gospel, R&B, Jazz an early age. Waking up and cleaning to Luther Vandross and Anita Baker to the Clark Sisters. By 10, I began writing lyrics, and throughout my teen years, I performed and won talent shows, discovering my passion for connecting with people through music.

After graduating from Prairie View A&M University, Myself, along with phenomenal singer and songwriter Yvette “Vet” Hardin, formed the urban gospel duo F.R.E.E (The only Hip Hop Female Duo with a Christian platform at the time). That experience opened doors to perform nationally, including the MisFits Tour and appearances on Bobby Jones Presents.

As my journey evolved, I decided to not only be a lyricist but to broaden my horizon through 2 decks and a mixer. I stepped into DJing, blending all my musical influences into one sound. I’ve had the opportunity to share stages with artists like Erica Campbell, Kierra Sheard, and Tamar Braxton, and have been honored with DJ of the Year and DJ of the Year at the Spin Awards, Female DJ of the Year for the Gospel Hip Hop Awards.

I received my first Radio opportunity at my hometown station, Tha 1 Radio in San Antonio, a leading urban internet radio platform, from there I became the Music & Program Director at New Praise Radio and the host of “The Mixtape w/ DJ Ms. Eclectic Radio Show” continuing to learn the fundamentals of radio behind the mic and behind the scenes. God continued to open doors , with recurring DJ appearances on Radio One.

I became the Executive Producer for the #1 Midday show, On Point with Juandolyn Stokes on Audacy Atlanta’s WAOK that resulted in two 2025 GABBY Awards from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for Excellence in Broadcasting. I also became the host of “Good Vibes with DJ Ms. Eclectic” WAOK’s lifestyle show with engaging interviews with national recording artists, producers, and actors, both in-studio and on the red carpet resulting in a 2025 R.I.C.E. (“Rising in Community Excellence”) Award for Outstanding in Media

I love curating experiences that connect culture, community, and conversation and now recently I enjoy bringing fresh energy and perspective to WIGO Atlanta as the Midday Host of “Midday Vibe with DJ Ms. Eclectic” marking an exciting evolution for the historic station celebrating 65 years serving the Atlanta community as it continues to amplify voices that shape and reflect the heartbeat of the city. Catch me weekdays 12pm – 3pm! WIGO1570.com!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not a smooth road. My journey has come with its share of challenges of growing pains, navigating the entertainment industry, relocating to a new cities, and really finding my identity within such a fast-paced, ever-evolving space.

Breaking into radio and media isn’t always about talent alone; it’s about timing, access, and resilience. Through the beginning of my radio journey, I was still working in corporate America from San Antonio to DC and then in a move of Faith and Obedience, I quit my corporate job and moved to Atlanta right before the pandemic. That was a journey in itself but it taught me perseverance, patience, the importance of relationships, dedication and trusting God’s timing.

Relocating also pushed me outside of my comfort zone. Starting over in a new market meant reintroducing myself, rebuilding my network, and staying consistent even when things felt uncertain. At the same time, I was learning who I truly was as a brand and as a voice and figuring out how to stay authentic while still growing professionally.

Each challenge, though, helped sharpen my vision and strengthen my purpose.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do not follow any one system, instead, selects and uses the best elements of all, standing in the true definition of “Eclectic” whether On Air, DJing being an Executive Producer or Hosting an Event. My goal is simple: execute at a level of excellence while bringing good energy into every space I enter.

This journey has shaped me in so many ways, and I’m proud of it all. being a faith-based woman in this industry, the recognition and awards I’ve received, and the growth that continues to push me forward.

But more than anything, I’m proud of the connection to community and the people who are impacted by the work. That’s what keeps me going. It’s always been bigger than me.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
