Meet Caleb5k of Kennesaw

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb5k.

Hi Caleb5k, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started with me moving from Cleveland, Ohio to Atlanta, Georgia at 8 years old then moving into Kennesaw where I went to school from elementary to high school. I was into football & basketball while having interest in music & fashion designing which started the journey where i am now but the process of fully getting into it was a slow one after I stopped playing basketball in my first year of college & joining the navy. I was in the navy for 5 years which brings me to now. I’m currently a clothing brand owner & music artist. I pride myself on being a multifaceted creative. I want to push passed just being a brand owner & artist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road getting to where I am & im still not where I want to be. But through the previous years it was harder balancing my creative aspirations & my duties I had while in the military. I also ran into different creative blocks mentally that slowed me down creating in fashion & music. Currently I have more freedom creating though.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a multifaceted creator in fashion as well as music. My brand is called 5 Levels & I’m known for my streetwear modeling. I’m proud of my fashion sense & my selfless dedication I put in promoting other upcoming brands & expressing myself through music. A big thing that sets me apart from others is definitely my drive in continuing to evolve myself when it comes to my creative ideas for brands including my own. I like to take my time with all of my creations rather than following others by over saturating the streetwear scene & music scene with products that’s not fully thought out. I’m definitely my toughest critic but I feel like that makes my work & dedication stand out.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I find it very helpful to make appearances at streetwear vending events to get your name out there if you want to be in that lane & connect with others who have more experience & success while learning to apply those things along with your own style or vision you have. The same thing goes for the music scene with it being so big in the city. It’s very important to network with others who are artists around the city whether it’s online or at pop up shows & concerts. You’ll be surprised what you can learn & who you can connect with that can bring your art out to more eyes & ears. It’s a lot of people in the city who love being introduced to new art whether it’s clothes, music or art pieces. The city is a big melting pot of creativity. That definitely gives us creatives a big advantage over other places.
