Life & Work with Sherry Valenzuela of Dallas, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherry Valenzuela.

Hi Sherry, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When my father passed away in 2021 I wanted to preserve his funeral flowers so I dried as many flowers as I could to dry them. Once they were dry I began to experiment with resin. From 2021-2023 I practiced snd in January 2024 I decided to take my Master Degree and put it use by opening my own business. My name come about because my dad as my reason to remember so the name A Resin To Remember was born. My logo is an A that looks similar to an R because my dad’s name was Ray. In the middle of 2024 I was invited to a venue open house and from there I started preserving wedding bouquets.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No I have done lots of research to perfect my pouring and finishing techniques. There has been blood sweat tears and lots of money spent. I still work my full time job so I’m constantly exhausted working between the two. I handle all my marketing website social media and more to keep from having to pay someone. There have been larger companies steal my ideas and try to punch me out.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in floral preservation. I preserve florals from weddings and memorials. We are the only resin company in the US to make a fully functional lamp. I can preserve hair, fur, ashes, breastmilk and more! I don’t typically use the same resin as most artists and we don’t top coat anything! We sand and polish every order for a more clean and clearer finish.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband had been my main support! He helps me with all the wood finishing. He also sands and polishes. My daughters all help with the business in different ways. My mom has also been a part as she is a drop off location for me when needed.
