Check Out Jordan Jetson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Jetson.

Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Oh, man, which part? I’ve lived about 4 lives. I’ve been a street level villain (like Riddler… or The Penguin), a premier musician, I had a prison arc, and now I do a lot of consultations and marketing, for myself and others.

I was raised in Louisville’s Russell Neighborhood, finessed it for almost 2 decades, became top 3 rapper around here for another decade, had children, and went to jail defending them. I got out, and decided to uplift others.

I use all of these life experiences to inform who I am today. I think it made me able to interact with anyone—everyone, I am a man of all people, but especially the bottom. There’s jewels down there. It’s where im from, so. Yeh.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not a smooth road at all. I come from a rough neighborhood where not even police are there to help. I was 8 the first time I “fit the description”, y’know?
Before the existence of The Space Campaign (spacespacespace) it was very hard to get a foot into the entertainment industry. It was control by people who were unhelpful, unfriendly, and uncooperative. They’d get on stage and brag about how “its their ball, and nobody else gets to play”. So me and my illustrious teammates (s/o Yons) snatched that ball and made them share.

It’s always been a fight but I’ve always enjoyed fighting.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
First and foremost, I’m a father. Its a teaching role, with the standard issues of growing a person from not being able to do anything, to being more capable than myself.

After, I’m a musician. Then, I draw. Not a painter. More like a sketch artist/digital artist. And after that, I’m a consultant. Teacher, again. I just teach my kids to walk through life, and I teach artists how to walk through the industry.

My pride goes in that order as well. My children, my personal work, my work for others.

What sets me apart is I’m a shark with a soul. I care about the individual and their progression as much as the effects it has on the whole.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Good question. I’m pretty upfront, but I suppose it’s that I suffer from the same insecurities as everyone else, I just handle it different so I don’t think most people notice. Dying in obscurity is a real fear of most artists but I look at it like a kind of blessing. Imagine, even after dying, your art is found and influences generations after.

You did it, even if you didn’t get to see it. So I worry the same amount, but not the same way.
