Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana.
Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Diana, a mom of four and the owner of Prima Café, a mobile coffee and matcha business based in Georgia. Interestingly, the original inspiration for my business came from one of my favorite pastimes — meeting up with my mom friends to grab lattes or matcha lattes and spending time together. Those moments of connection, conversation, and community made me fall in love with the atmosphere that coffee shops create, and eventually inspired me to create something of my own.
I officially started planning my business in December of 2024 and worked hard behind the scenes for months learning, preparing, and building my vision. In October of 2025, I hosted my very first event, which marked the beginning of my journey as a business owner.
Since then, building my business has taught me resilience, adaptability, and leadership. I’ve balanced running a growing business while raising a family, managing events, creating marketing content, handling customer relationships, and continuously learning how to grow a brand from the ground up. Along the way, I’ve developed strong communication, organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Today, I continue focusing on growing Prima Café while also pursuing opportunities that allow me to expand professionally, challenge myself, and create long-term stability for my family. My experiences as both an entrepreneur and mother have shaped me into someone who works hard, learns quickly, and stays determined through every challenge.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has helped me grow both personally and professionally. One of the biggest struggles has been balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood and family life. Running a business requires long hours, constant problem-solving, and a lot of sacrifice, all while still wanting to be fully present for my children and family.
Another challenge was starting a business from the ground up without having prior experience in the coffee industry or business ownership. There was a huge learning curve when it came to finances, marketing, event coordination, branding, inventory management, and building confidence in myself as a business owner. There were also moments of self-doubt, financial stress, and fear of failure, especially during the beginning stages while trying to establish my brand and gain consistent customers.
As the business grew, I also experienced changes within the partnership side of the business, which forced me to adapt quickly and step into a stronger leadership role independently. While those transitions were difficult emotionally and professionally, they taught me resilience, flexibility, and the importance of trusting my vision.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My business specializes in creating elevated drinks inspired by both modern café culture and my Mexican heritage. One of the biggest things I am known for is my matcha menu. I genuinely love matcha — not only for its taste, but also for the wellness benefits that come with it. Creating unique matcha flavors and experiences has become one of my favorite parts of my business.
What sets my business apart is the way I intentionally incorporate culture into everything I create. My goal has always been to create more than just coffee drinks — I want people to feel warmth, comfort, and connection when they visit us. Many of my drinks, flavors, and branding elements are inspired by Mexican culture, traditions, and family-centered experiences. My long-term dream is to eventually open a brick-and-mortar café that feels like stepping into a modern Mexican hacienda-inspired café experience.
I am especially proud of building this business while also being a mother. Balancing entrepreneurship, motherhood, marriage, and everyday life has not always been easy, but it has been incredibly rewarding. This business became something that allowed me to pursue a dream for myself while also showing my children the value of hard work, passion, and perseverance.
Professionally, I have developed skills in customer service, branding, marketing, event coordination, social media management, and business operations. I’ve learned how to build meaningful relationships with customers and create experiences that make people want to return. More than anything, I am proud that I took an idea that started from simple coffee dates with friends and turned it into something real that continues to grow every day.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband deserves a tremendous amount of credit for helping me build and pursue this dream. From the very beginning, he has been one of my biggest supporters and encouragers. Starting a business is not easy, especially while raising a family, and there were many moments where I questioned myself or felt overwhelmed. Through all of it, he constantly reminded me to keep going and believed in me even during the times I doubted myself.
He has supported me not only emotionally, but also through the sacrifices that come with building a business from the ground up. Whether it was helping with the kids, supporting long workdays and weekends at events, assisting behind the scenes, or simply encouraging me when things felt difficult, his support has played a huge role in where I am today.
I also give credit to my family, friends, loyal customers, and the community that has supported Prima Café since the beginning. Every person who has shared a post, attended an event, recommended us to someone else, or continued to show up for our business has helped us grow. Having people believe in what I am creating has been incredibly motivating and has reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.
