Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley & Alexis Hegetschweiler.
Hi Haley & Alexis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Haley and Alexis have been making music together our whole lives — as identical twins, we’ve always had this built-in connection creatively. We started out playing local shows anywhere we could, writing nonstop, and slowly building our sound from the ground up.
That grind turned into years of independent touring and eventually opening for national acts like Dustin Lynch, Chase Rice, Parmalee, Russell Dickerson and Walker Hayes, which really shaped us as performers.
Over time our music evolved into something bolder — gritty guitars, big hooks, and storytelling that doesn’t hold back. Our newest single “Evicted” is the start of this new era for us: heavier, rebellious, and unapologetically honest. It’s about being pushed out, misunderstood, and choosing to stand stronger anyway.
We have another single coming soon called “No Apologies”, which really continues that theme. It’s about going against societal expectations — like the pressure to be married or have kids by a certain age — and choosing instead to follow your own timeline, chase your dreams, and be yourself without apologizing for it.
That’s really what this chapter is for us: no rules, no limits — just music that’s louder, bolder, and more honest than ever.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No — not at all. Honestly, being an independent, struggling musician is one of the hardest things you can do. You’re constantly putting your truth out there through your music, being vulnerable in a way most people never have to be… and a lot of the time you work insanely hard just to gain one listener, one follower, or one opportunity.
When you don’t have money backing you, a label, or a big team behind you, everything takes ten times longer and requires so much grit. You don’t have the “professionals” helping get your music heard — it’s just you. You’re not only the artist, you’re also the business, the marketing team, the booking agent, the content creator… all of it. And it can be exhausting trying to balance being creative while also trying to survive and grow.
But at the end of the day, we love it so much that we always find a way. We keep pushing, keep writing, keep showing up, because there’s nothing like hearing people connect to your songs and getting to play on the stages we’ve dreamed about.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What we do is create bold, high-energy pop/alternative rock music with strong hooks, gritty guitars, and lyrics that feel real. We specialize in storytelling that’s honest and fearless — songs that hit hard emotionally but still feel powerful and anthemic.
We’re known for our live show and our ability to connect with people through both energy and vulnerability. Whether it’s a big stage or a small room, we want people to feel something and leave feeling stronger than when they walked in.
What we’re most proud of is building everything independently from the ground up — touring on our own, growing our fanbase one person at a time, and earning opportunities to open for national acts like Dustin Lynch, Chase Rice, Parmalee, and Walker Hayes. We’ve had to wear every hat ourselves, and we’ve kept going even when it was hard.
What sets us apart is that we’re identical twins, so our chemistry is undeniable — on stage and in our writing. We also don’t play it safe. Our music is unapologetic and loud, but still emotional, and we aren’t afraid to say the things people usually keep quiet. We’re here to make music for the outsiders, the misunderstood, and anyone who’s tired of living by someone else’s rules.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, Haley and I were actually really different personality-wise, even though we’re identical twins. Alexis was more of the athlete — quieter, more reserved, and definitely someone who preferred being behind the scenes. Haley was always the outgoing one. She was constantly singing, making friends everywhere, and had this big personality that people naturally gravitated toward.
But even with our differences, we were both total “goody two-shoes.” We never got in trouble, always had good grades, and did everything by the book. We were the kids who really tried to do everything right and follow the path that was expected of us.
Honestly, the biggest “red flag” moment for our family wasn’t anything bad we did — it was when we said we wanted to be music artists. Our family wanted the traditional route: corporate jobs, marriage, kids… the typical timeline that most people follow. And for most of our lives, we really did try to be what everyone wanted us to be.
Music was the first thing we ever chose completely for ourselves. It was the first time we stepped outside of expectations and said, “This is what we want.”
That’s also why our next song, “No Apologies,” is so important to us — because it’s about exactly that. Living your life for you, not for everyone else’s version of what it should look like.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey so far. Independent artists truly grow through connection and support, and every stream, follow, share, like, comment and message means more than people realize. If our story or music resonates with you, we’d love for you to follow along on our social media channels and listen/add our music on Spotify as we continue this journey together. We can’t wait to share what’s next.
