Community Highlights: Meet Alfonzo “Renny” Farmer of Building Blocks Learning Academy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alfonzo “Renny” Farmer.

Hi Alfonzo “Renny” , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Spring of 2014 I was talking with my sister about doing something different in life after waking up with 50 Cent in my pocket. I made some pretty bad business investments and lost everything and had to completely revamp my life and start over. Myself and a few others found a location to do a summer camp in the Mableton area which led to opening a Daycare called Building Blocks Learning Academy for kids.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business that you knew absolutely nothing about took a lot of dedication and time. I’ve been everything from the director to the cook to the maintenance man and bus driver. Each day year is an adventure. You never know what to expect but as long as you keep your mind, focused forward, your fleet planted on the ground. You can always continue through that journey.

The biggest struggle is trying to keep the place full of kids as family go through many obstacles as well so enrollment is constantly turning over.

As you know, we’re big fans of Building Blocks Learning Academy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are childcare facility that caters to children from the age 6 months to 13 years.

We specialize in children growth development to help them get prepared for life.

We’re almost proud of being the hundred dollar Daycare to provide families with an opportunity for childcare.

I would love for the readers to know that we are willing to work with every family as we are a family and a team all in one.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Values me the most to me as well as a person‘s word. Say what you mean and mean what you say. And this thing called life you wanna be known as being trustworthy so your word is all you have.
