Life & Work with Roland Clarke of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roland Clarke.

Hi Roland , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My Name is HakimOnDaTrack also known as an artists by MajorLeagueTrill, I’m from the Southside of Atlanta and I discovered my love for music when I was 13 years old. At the time, I was recording myself just for fun, and that’s when I first became interested in production. My parents enrolled me in a music production camp, and ever since then, I’ve stayed dedicated to the craft. It’s been a 15-year journey so far.

A huge inspiration for me came from seeing my mom’s plaques and credits for artists like Monica and projects with TLC through Rowdy Records. Watching that growing up showed me that success in music was real and possible. From there, I started building my own path and developing my own sound.

Over the years, I’ve built my portfolio working with artists like Skooly, Fast Money Ant, SSG Kobe, 1504 MuteBaby, 21 Harold, ManMan Savage, Homixide Osama, and many more upcoming artists including Mako Girls, Chelsey Victoria, Khosen, Rich2Lit, LucStar, Tripp Racks, Lumid and a few others. I’m continuing to grow every day and expand my reach as both a producer and artist.

What separates me from a lot of others is that I truly know my sound. I’ve spent years crafting it and making sure it reflects who I am — a unique blend of my own style mixed with an urban Southern feel. I want to be known as one of the hardest producers and artists coming out of the Southside of Atlanta, while also showing people that nothing is impossible.

One of my latest releases, “4Life,” produced and directed by @RichDaSniper, really represents my journey. The concept behind the video was going back to my roots — where everything started. I used to sit on my grandma’s porch making music with just a MacBook and headphones. Over time, that passion and consistency brought me to where I am today.

My biggest obstacle has been losing almost everything at one point — money, my apartment, friendships, and even family connections. The only thing I truly had left was my laptop, and music kept me going through it all. That experience taught me resilience and made me even more focused on my purpose.

My goal with music is bigger than just making records. I want to inspire the youth and show them that music can open doors in life beyond athletics or the streets. Music has influence in every aspect of culture, and I want my impact to go beyond sound and lyrics. I want to give back to the community, create opportunities for young creatives, and help others succeed as I continue building my own legacy.

I’m currently independent and signed to myself through my label and production team, MajorLeagueSoundsLLC. I created it from the vision and knowledge I’ve gained studying greats like Dr. Dre and Dallas Austin. Looking ahead, I see myself continuing to build stronger networks, landing major placements, growing my label, and putting more people in position to win. I’m also owner of Profits2ProsperClothing, which is a luxury street clothing brand designed to create multiple profits for our next generation to prosper.

In the future, I’d love to work with producers like Timbaland, Metro Boomin, TM88, Southside, and The Alchemist. On the artist side, I want to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Drake, ScHoolboy Q, Brent Faiyaz, Summer Walker, and SZA.

Right now, I’m focused on preparing my next single and getting ready to release my first artist project exclusively produced by me, featuring some of the upcoming artists I’ve been building with. This is only the beginning.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a music producer, artist, and creative from the Southside of Atlanta. I specialize in creating a unique sound that blends raw Southern influence with modern urban production. Over the years, I’ve developed my own style through consistency, experience, and working with a variety of artists across different sounds and backgrounds.
I’m known for my production, my ear for creating records that feel authentic, and for helping artists bring their vision to life. I’ve worked with artists like Skooly, Fast Money Ant, ManMan Savage, Homixide Osama, and several rising artists that are continuing to build momentum. Beyond producing, I’m also building my own label and production team, MajorLeagueSoundsLLC, with the goal of creating opportunities for other creatives and leaving a real impact through music.
What I’m most proud of is staying committed through everything I’ve been through. There was a point where I lost almost everything except my laptop, but I never stopped creating. Music kept me going, and being able to continue building my career from that point is something I take pride in every day.
What sets me apart is that I truly know my sound and my identity as an artist and producer. I’ve spent years crafting it instead of chasing trends. I also bring real-life experience, authenticity, and vision into everything I create. I’m not just focused on making music — I’m focused on building a legacy, inspiring the youth, and showing people from where I come from that anything is possible.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would be hanging out with my Uncle going to the candy lady to get some candy, and him actually taking the training wheels off my bike which lead me to be a pro biker within my neighborhood. Those were the days. My family all stayed in the same neighborhood; so going to see my auntie on a bike to get a freeze cup was no problem at all. I also can say my beginning days of learning music was my favorite as well, it was always a curiosity of exploring new sounds, learning how to work the software. later became known as the little boy on the porch making beats.
