Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiana Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiana Lewis.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
What up Doe! My name is Tiana Monè AKA the Midwest Babydoll. I am from Lansing, MI. I’m a wife, Mom and All around creative. I have a license in cosmetology. I fell in love with doing hair when I was around 11 my mom used to have me dye, cut and curl her hair. I had sisters that would also have me do their hair. I was the home girl in school that will get all my girls together in the school bathroom so all our hair can be on point. I also dibble and dabble in Videography and photography those are two things I could never get tired of doing. My Content creation Journey started when I graduated cosmetology school I started making hair videos to build my brand and clientele. I found a lot of joy in editing and creating and being free with my creativity. I decided to take my creativity and my family to Atlanta to further me and my husband’s careers, he also owns a production company called Wolf Ticket Studios. That gives us a chance to do everything in house. We have now been in Atlanta for about 5 years and have come into so many great opportunities! At first I was a little discouraged because moving to a new city and nobody knows you is hard. But I made sure to make my name and work be known. I have had the chance to go on brand trips, dinners and work with various hair brands that I never dreamed of working with. I am so grateful to be able to get my name and work out into the world. I want everybody to know who Tiana Moné is. I don’t have to be the richest or most popular just want to be known for being the girl who stayed true to herself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been like when they put those little pebbles in the road to fix the pot holes kind of smooth kind of rocky haha I knew this journey wasn’t going to be easy I knew I wasn’t going to be able to work with every brand or get every collab but those are the times I spend working on myself and my brand and showing up for me even more. Life is always going to be life, you will have your amazing days and also your sad days it up to you how you spend them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a License Cosmetologist/content creator. I mostly am known for my hair videos weather I’m doing a Blow out, styling my pixie cut or coloring my hair. I am an advocate for natural hair care. I believe if you take care of your natural hair the right way you’ll never have a bad hair day again. I am most proud of staying true to myself and not falling into the stigma of “all these hairstylist want is money” I’m the stylist that doesn’t mind helping for free.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband! It’s just me and him and we are making the strives towards a better life for our kids and family. He helps me film, helps with lighting, editing whatever I don’t know or need he’s always there to help me. He’ll even help with content ideas or equipment that I may need. I can’t thank him enough because without him I wouldn’t have been able to experience certain opportunities that I have had. He has even taken off work to make sure I was able to attend and be in the rooms he thought I deserved to be in. I can’t thank him enough.
