Hi Latierra , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Kuztom Kraftz started before COVID as a hobby and a creative outlet. What began with making custom tumblers, handmade epoxy creations, dominoes, and fun arts and crafts for family and friends slowly turned into something much bigger. My husband and I had a conversation one day about turning my passion into a small business and pushing myself to grow creatively, and from there Kuztom Kraftz was born.

As the business continued to grow, I expanded into custom apparel, DTF printing, embroidery, and creating products for other small businesses. One of the biggest reasons I started crafting was to challenge myself creatively and learn different skills, but along the way it became so much more than that. I found joy in helping other businesses bring their ideas to life and supporting people who are building their own dreams.

Kuztom Kraftz has also become something very personal to me. It represents growth, hard work, and building a future for my children while becoming a stronger and better version of myself. Being able to create, inspire, and connect with others through my work is something I’m truly grateful for.

I want to thank my husband for always being my biggest supporter and believing in me from the very beginning, along with my kids who continue to motivate me every day.

My dream is to continue growing Kuztom Kraftz into a successful brand, represent and inspire Black women and other women in business, and continue helping others in the same industry succeed alongside me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the hardest challenges behind building Kuztomkraftz was continuing to push forward while grieving the loss of both my son and my mother. Their passing tested me mentally, emotionally, and as a business owner. There were moments where balancing life, motherhood, healing, and running a growing business felt overwhelming, but those experiences also gave me strength, purpose, and motivation to keep creating. Kuztomkraftz became more than just a business for me — it became part of my healing journey and a way to continue making my family proud.”It definitely has not been a smooth road, but every obstacle has helped me grow stronger both personally and professionally. Other challenges has been balancing being a business owner, wife, and mother while still making time for myself and my family. Running a small business takes a lot of long nights, patience, and dedication, especially when you are handling everything yourself from designing, printing, creating content, packaging orders, customer service, and continuing to learn new skills.

Another challenge has been learning through trial and error. There were times when equipment failed, projects did not go as planned, or I doubted myself creatively. Starting with limited knowledge and teaching myself different crafts, printing methods, embroidery, and business skills was not always easy, but I stayed determined to keep learning and improving.

As a Black woman small business owner, I also wanted to prove to myself that I could build something meaningful and successful from the ground up. There were moments of stress and uncertainty, but those moments motivated me to work even harder.

Through all the obstacles, my family has been my biggest support system. My husband has always encouraged me to keep pushing forward, and my kids are a huge reason why I continue to grow Kuztom Kraftz every day. The challenges have taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of believing in yourself even when things get difficult.

Kuztom Kraftz is a custom creative business that specializes in bringing ideas to life through apparel printing, embroidery, custom products, and personalized designs. What started as a small hobby has grown into a brand that creates custom T-shirts, DTF prints, embroidery, UV DTF products, tumblers, signs, decals, and other unique items for individuals, families, sports teams, small businesses, and events.

One thing that sets Kuztom Kraftz apart is the passion and creativity behind every order. I truly enjoy being hands-on throughout the entire process, from designing and creating to packaging and connecting with customers. I love challenging myself creatively and learning new techniques that allow me to continue growing and offering more to my customers.

Kuztom Kraftz is also known for supporting other small businesses. A big part of what I do is helping others bring their vision to life through custom branding, apparel, and promotional products that help their businesses stand out. Seeing my work help someone else feel proud of their brand is one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

What I am most proud of brand-wise is how much Kuztom Kraftz has grown from a simple hobby into a recognized business that represents hard work, creativity, and determination. I am proud that I built this business while balancing motherhood, family life, and personal growth. Every milestone reminds me why I started in the first place.

I would like readers to know that no dream is too small to start. Kuztom Kraftz began with simple crafts at home, and over time it grew into something I am truly proud of. You do not have to have everything figured out in the beginning. Growth comes from being consistent, believing in yourself, and continuing to learn even when things feel difficult.

I also want to encourage other women, especially Black women and mothers, to never be afraid to take a chance on themselves and their creativity. There is room for all of us to grow, succeed, and support one another.
