Hi Olivia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My entrepreneurial journey began about 10 years ago while working as a digital content producer in local news and as a radio personality. Those experiences gave me a strong foundation in storytelling, audience engagement, and strategic communication. Working in news not only exposed me to the broadcast side of communications, but also gave me a firsthand look at how public relations (PR) works. That exposure sparked my interest in PR and inspired me to pursue a master’s degree to deepen my knowledge of the field. While completing my graduate studies, I continued working in news and radio while also beginning to offer PR services to small businesses and entrepreneurs.

My background in media allowed me to build relationships throughout the community with business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and organizations. Over time, the demand for my services grew, and I realized that public relations was more than just an interest, it was the career path I was truly passionate about.

That’s when Olivia Gunn PR & Communications was birthed, where I now help brands and businesses strengthen their messaging, increase visibility, and create meaningful connections with their audiences.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship has not been easy. Olivia Gunn PR & Communications launched in 2020 and since then, there have been seasons where business was slow, which led me to go through periods of not being motivated and feeling uncertain. There were even times when I wanted to give up on my business and dissolve it. But staying visible in slow seasons has sustained me and sparked new and creative ways to boost and build my brand, allowing me to attract new clients, and offer better services and products.

What matters to me most is living in my purpose and being intentional. Purpose is powerful. When you are aware of your purpose, you don’t have to worry about if you’re operating in the wrong lane or not. Ultimately, your purpose should be your ‘why.” I’m also intentional with every move. Whether it’s in business or my personal life, being intentional allows your moves to have meaning. For me, purpose and intention go hand-in-hand.
