Check Out Danielle Pressley’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Pressley.

Hi Danielle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started photography in 2019 because I wanted to take better photos of my kids and create artistic, creative images that felt meaningful to me. At the time, I never imagined it would grow into what it is today. As I kept practicing and learning, people began asking me to take photos for them, and that’s when I realized this could become something bigger.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. For a long time, I struggled with self-doubt and constantly compared myself to other photographers. I loved photography, but I didn’t always believe I was good enough to truly succeed in such a competitive industry.

Balancing photography with a regular job and raising three kids was exhausting at times. There were so many late nights spent editing after everyone went to sleep, running on little sleep and trying to keep up with everything. I honestly came close to giving up a few times because I felt burnt out.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned through this journey is that passion and persistence matter more than perfection. There will always be talented people around you, and it’s easy to feel discouraged when you compare yourself to others. But if you genuinely love something, don’t let fear or competition stop you from pursuing it. Keep going, keep improving, and trust that growth comes with time. I’m grateful I didn’t give up on myself, because now I finally feel confident in what I’ve built, and I know this is only the beginning.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a wedding and portrait photographer, and what I love most about this work is getting to capture genuine moments and connections between people. I specialize in weddings, couples, families, and portraits, with a style that blends timeless images with natural emotion and creativity. I always want my photos to feel authentic to the people in them while still having an artistic touch.

One thing I’m known for is helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera, even if they normally feel awkward or nervous about photos. I try to create an experience that feels relaxed and fun instead of overly posed or stressful. I care just as much about the experience I give my clients as I do about the final images they receive.

What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come, especially while balancing photography with a regular job and raising three kids. Building something from a creative passion into a business people trust has been incredibly rewarding.

I think what sets me apart is the heart I put into my work and the relationships I build with my clients. I genuinely care about the people I photograph, and I want them to feel seen, valued, and comfortable throughout the entire process. I pay close attention to details, emotions, and the little in-between moments that often end up meaning the most.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something people might not know about me is that while I’ve built my photography business here, I’ve always had a big dream of taking it on the road. I’d love to travel for photography, experience different places, and get to know new cultures along the way.

Once my kids are older, one of my goals is to get a camper and travel all over the United States, capturing stories and moments wherever we go. Eventually I will take it to different countries!

A lot of people see the finished images, but not the years of self-doubt, late-night editing, and balancing a full-time job and motherhood that got me here. That journey is a big part of why I care so deeply about what I do now.
