Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonita And Nikiya Bybee And Johnson.
Hi Tonita and Nikiya, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Savvy Girl Consulting was founded by two mothers, government contractors, entrepreneurs, and community advocates who share a passion for leadership, storytelling, and creating meaningful impact.
Our journey has never followed a straight line, but every experience has helped shape who we are today. Throughout our careers, we have worked in professional environments that require strategic planning, relationship building, project management, communications, and problem-solving. Through our work as government contractors, we’ve learned the importance of collaboration, accountability, and creating solutions that serve people and communities effectively.
At the same time, we have built Savvy Girl Consulting into a company focused on brand management, public relations, strategic partnerships, event production, and community engagement. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs, authors, artists, athletes, nonprofit organizations, and public figures, helping them elevate their brands, expand their reach, and create meaningful connections with their audiences.
Beyond our careers, we are mothers first. Being moms has shaped our perspective on legacy, mentorship, leadership, and the importance of creating opportunities for future generations. We understand firsthand the value of strong communities, positive role models, and people who are willing to invest in others.
As we continued working with clients and community leaders throughout Metro Atlanta, we noticed that many people doing extraordinary work often go unrecognized despite the lives they impact every day. That observation became the foundation for many of the initiatives we would later create through Savvy Girl Consulting.
What started as a shared passion for community engagement evolved into a company focused on strategy, impact, and legacy. Whether through brand management, public relations, community initiatives, or large-scale events, our goal has always been to create opportunities that inspire, connect, and leave a lasting impact.
One of our most significant projects to date is the Georgia’s Founding Fathers Initiative. The idea was born from a simple conversation about the importance of honoring influential men while they are still here to receive their flowers. We recognized a need to celebrate men whose leadership, mentorship, entrepreneurship, public service, and community impact continue to shape Metro Atlanta in powerful ways.
That vision became the foundation for an inaugural proclamation ceremony bringing together community leaders, business professionals, creatives, public servants, educators, healthcare leaders, and changemakers to recognize men who are building legacies and creating meaningful change throughout our city.
Today, our work is centered around building bridges, creating opportunities, managing brands, producing experiences, and bringing people together. While we are proud of what we have built through Savvy Girl Consulting and the Georgia’s Founding Fathers Initiative, we believe we are only getting started.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple mission: to honor people, celebrate impact, strengthen communities, and create a legacy that inspires future generations.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. Like most entrepreneurs, our journey has come with its share of challenges, setbacks, and lessons learned.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing multiple roles. We are mothers, professionals, government contractors, business owners, and community advocates. There are times when we are managing careers, family responsibilities, client projects, and community initiatives all at once. Learning how to prioritize, delegate, and protect our time has been an ongoing process.
Another challenge has been building something from the ground up. When you’re creating a vision that doesn’t yet exist, there isn’t always a roadmap. There are moments when you’re asking people to believe in an idea before they can fully see it. Whether it’s securing partnerships, gaining community buy-in, or introducing a new initiative like Georgia’s Founding Fathers, we’ve learned that persistence and consistency are essential.
Like many entrepreneurs, we’ve also experienced moments of self-doubt, financial investment, long hours, and the uncertainty that comes with growing a business. Behind every event, partnership, and successful project are countless phone calls, meetings, revisions, and obstacles that most people never see.
What has helped us navigate those challenges is our shared commitment to the work, our faith, and the relationships we’ve built along the way. We’ve been fortunate to work with incredible clients, including artists, authors, athletes, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, and those experiences have taught us the value of resilience, adaptability, and staying focused on the bigger picture.
Every challenge has reinforced the same lesson: meaningful impact takes time. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but every obstacle has helped prepare us for the opportunities we’re creating today. Looking back, we wouldn’t change the journey because those experiences have shaped the women, mothers, and business owners we are today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Savvy Girl Consultants?
Savvy Girl Consulting is a strategic consulting, brand management, public relations, and event production firm built on the belief that meaningful relationships create meaningful opportunities.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just help brands gain visibility—we help them create impact. We specialize in brand development, public relations, strategic partnerships, community engagement, event production, and talent relations. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs, authors, artists, athletes, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders, helping them elevate their brands, tell their stories, and connect with the audiences they are meant to serve.
At our core, we are connectors. We have a unique ability to bring people, organizations, and ideas together in ways that create lasting value. Whether we’re developing a brand strategy, securing partnerships, coordinating media opportunities, managing talent, or producing a signature event, our goal is always to create experiences and opportunities that leave a lasting impression.
What we’re most proud of is our ability to build platforms that celebrate people and strengthen communities. Georgia’s Founding Fathers is a perfect example of that. What began as a simple conversation between two women evolved into a citywide initiative designed to honor influential men whose leadership, mentorship, entrepreneurship, public service, and community impact continue to shape Metro Atlanta. Seeing the community rally around this vision has been incredibly rewarding.
We are also proud that our business reflects who we are personally. As mothers, professionals, and community advocates, we understand the importance of authenticity, service, and legacy. We don’t chase transactions—we build relationships. Many of our opportunities have come through trust, referrals, and genuine connections cultivated over time.
We want readers to know that Savvy Girl Consulting is more than a consulting firm. We are storytellers, strategists, relationship builders, and experience creators. Whether we are supporting a brand, producing an event, managing talent, or launching a community initiative, our mission remains the same: to help people and organizations amplify their impact, elevate their visibility, and create meaningful change.
At the end of the day, we want our work to be remembered not just for what we created, but for the people we inspired, the communities we strengthened, and the opportunities we helped bring to life.
What were you like growing up?
We’re two girls from Cleveland, Ohio, who grew up in Bedford and proudly graduated from Bedford High School. We sometimes joke that we’re just “two heathens from Cleveland” who somehow ended up building brands, producing events, and creating opportunities throughout Metro Atlanta.
Nikiya was always the organizer. She loved playing “business office,” creating plans, assigning roles, and leading her cousins and friends through whatever adventure or project she had dreamed up. She was naturally drawn to structure, leadership, and bringing people together. Looking at her life now, not much has changed. She still loves strategy, project management, relationship building, and turning ideas into reality.
Toi was the exact opposite in the best way possible. She has always had a larger-than-life personality and could talk just about anyone into anything. She was outgoing, fearless, creative, and the person who could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with a room full of friends. She had a natural gift for connecting with people, building relationships, and making things happen.
What makes our partnership so special is that those qualities complement each other perfectly. Nikiya brings strategy, organization, execution, and operations. Toi brings energy, vision, creativity, and relationship-building. Together, we’ve found a balance that allows us to dream big while also creating a plan to bring those dreams to life.
Growing up in Bedford taught us the importance of community, resilience, and hard work. We learned early on that success isn’t just about what you accomplish personally—it’s about how you show up for others and the impact you leave behind. Those lessons continue to guide us today as mothers, government contractors, entrepreneurs, and community advocates.
Whether we’re managing brands, producing events, working with artists, athletes, authors, or launching initiatives like Georgia’s Founding Fathers, we’re still doing what we’ve always loved: bringing people together, creating opportunities, and building something bigger than ourselves.
At our core, we’re still those two girls from Cleveland—just with bigger platforms, bigger goals, and an even bigger commitment to making an impact.
