Life & Work with Jasmine Tallon of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Tallon.

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi I am Jas! A licensed and certified in master cosmetologist with almost 20 years experience. I graduated from Beauty Schools of America in Miami, Fl in 2011 and went to work for a celebrity greek hairstylist in Madison Square, NY for 2 years. Then I returned to Miami and worked with NYC to Miami Photography as a hairstylist makeup artist doing photo shoots, fashion shows, runway galas. I then moved to Atlanta GA and opened my own salon suite servicing the Gwinnett County area, specializing in Bridal Hair and Makeup. I love helping people feel and look their best.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A career you are passionate about is always persevering and it comes with it’s challenges. Some of the struggles I faced were not building a consist clientele because I moved to gain big city experiences. Growing sales in a saturated market. Learning what I love most hair styling and makeup artistry, honing that skill and focusing my specialty in that area instead of taking on all the services in my industry.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed and certified Master Cosmetologist. I specialize in Bridal hair and makeup. I am known for my creativity and completing good work. I am most proud of my entrepreneurship, being able to start a business from the ground up and make it successful. What sets me apart from others is my ability to wear many hats.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Yes my professor at Beauty Schools of America Mrs. Pauline Theus-Defour who was my mentor and stewarding me in my skills. My father George Lisboa who supported my growth in New York housing and transporting me to and from. My mother Carmen Ortiz and sister Jeannie Ortiz for always being my test subjects. My husband Mike Tallon who has supported my business Jasurstyle and has helped me with Marketing.
