Today we’d like to introduce you to Nzyte.
Hi Nzyte, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I came to Atlanta and just absorbed the culture, starting out as this anonymous observer of city life. Before stepping out as Nzyte (pronounced like insight), I spent time engineering for some dope artists, including working with Rico Wade. When he passed, it really hit me… there’s so much talent out there! and sometimes all that’s missing is that belief. Now, I’m using my music to pass that confidence along collaborating, sharing what I’ve learned, and making the most of this time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At first, one of the tougher things was breaking into the right circles in Atlanta early on, it wasn’t always easy to get in the mix. But that just pushed me to keep refining my craft. I realized it’s not just about making music, it’s about growing with it. Honestly, it’s been a grind, but the more I stayed true to what I do, the more those connections happened naturally. So every challenge, whether it was networking or leveling up, just made me double down on the mission.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I rap, produce, and handle my own mixing and mastering, it’s all part of the craft for me. But what I really do is tell the stories of urban life… the real challenges… without glorifying harm. I’m not about spinning blocks or promoting violence. I’m about reflection and giving game. One thing that sets me apart is I see this as a business. Being an artist is like running a store, you’ve got to deliver something real, meet people, and build trust. In fact, I’m already mentoring someone on their mixing. So it’s not just about my music, it’s about building something lasting and passing it on.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
One thing I love about Atlanta is you can just be chilling in some random bar, and next thing you know, there’s a big-time producer or artist just hanging out like it’s nothing. People don’t even swarm them… it’s just a chill vibe, and I love that about the city. Now, what I like least? Honestly, these car break-ins. Nothing worse than having to replace a window!
