Today we’d like to introduce you to King Zombie.
Hi king, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started the same way a lot of people do—just creating. No big plan, no industry connections, just me, God, my thoughts, and the music. Over time, I realized music was more than something I liked doing; it became a way for me to express everything I couldn’t really put into words. Every season of my life added something to the sound—the struggles, the blessings, the wins, the losses. Through it all, God kept opening doors and guiding me when I didn’t always know what the next step was. Where I’m at today is the result of faith, consistency, and trusting the vision He gave me. I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, but I know I’m nowhere near the finish line. This is just the beginning.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nah, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Every level comes with its own challenges. There were times when things weren’t moving as fast as I wanted, times when people doubted the vision, and times when I had to keep believing in myself even when nobody else did. Balancing life, growth, and music isn’t always easy either. But honestly, those struggles built me into who I am today. They taught me patience, discipline, and how to trust God even when I couldn’t see the bigger picture. Looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it because every setback became part of the story and every obstacle gave me something to talk about through the music.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an artist first and foremost. I create music that’s real to me and reflects whatever season of life I’m in. I don’t like putting myself in a box because I can go from melodic and atmospheric to hard-hitting and energetic without losing who I am. My music is built on emotion, experience, and authenticity.
What I’m most proud of is being able to evolve while staying true to myself. A lot of artists find a sound and stay there. I’ve never been afraid to grow, experiment, and take risks while keeping the same core identity. Every project is a step forward from the last one.
What sets me apart is that I’m not chasing trends or trying to sound like whoever is hot at the moment. I let the music come naturally and trust the vision God gave me. People connect with authenticity, and that’s something I refuse to compromise. At the end of the day, I want people to hear my music and immediately know it’s me—not because of a gimmick, but because the sound, energy, and message are undeniable.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think growth always comes with risk. One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was believing in myself and pursuing music without any guarantees. A lot of people wait until they see results, but I had to trust the vision before anyone else did.
I’ve also taken risks by staying authentic instead of chasing trends. Not everybody understands the vision right away, but I’d rather be remembered for being real than for fitting in. More than anything, I trust God. I’ve learned that some of the biggest blessings come when you’re willing to step out on faith and keep going even when the outcome isn’t clear.
