Daily Inspiration: Meet Kyjah Knox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyjah Knox.

Hi Kyjah , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
KandyRantz started from my love for conversation, storytelling, and creating a space where real people could be heard. I’ve always been passionate about entertainment, culture, and highlighting voices that don’t always get the recognition they deserve. What began as an idea eventually turned into a platform where Atlanta’s socialites, artists, entrepreneurs, and everyday people can come together to share their experiences, perspectives, and talents.

Like any creative journey, it hasn’t always been easy. There were moments of self-doubt, balancing work and personal responsibilities, and figuring things out as I went. But I stayed committed because I truly believed in the vision. Over time, KandyRantz evolved into more than just a podcast—it’s become a community and a place for authentic conversations. From interviewing rising Southside artists to hosting Q&A episodes and introducing new segments, each episode reflects growth and purpose.

Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. KandyRantz continues to grow while staying true to its mission: giving people a platform to be seen, heard, and celebrated. This is only the beginning, and I’m excited to continue amplifying voices and building something that leaves a lasting impact.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles has been consistency. As much as I love podcasting, balancing everyday life, work responsibilities, and trying to build a brand from the ground up has been challenging. There were times when I had to step away, regroup, and find my passion again. I had to learn that success isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up even when things don’t go exactly as planned.

Another challenge has been networking, especially with other women. I envisioned creating a supportive community where women could collaborate, uplift one another, and grow together. But I’ve learned that building genuine relationships takes time. Not every interaction turns into the sisterhood or partnership you expect, and navigating those dynamics has taught me a lot about setting boundaries, staying authentic, and continuing to put myself out there without letting disappointment discourage me.

Those struggles have shaped me and KandyRantz into what it is today. They’ve taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of believing in my vision even when progress feels slow. Every setback has become a lesson, and every lesson has made me a better host, creator, and entrepreneur.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m the creator and host of KandyRantz, a podcast centered around authentic conversations, culture, and community. I specialize in creating a space where people feel comfortable enough to share their real stories—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. From interviewing rising Atlanta artists and entrepreneurs to hosting Q&A episodes and discussions on topics that matter, my goal is always to make my guests feel seen, heard, and understood.

I think I’m known for being relatable and genuine. I don’t approach interviews like a traditional media outlet. I talk to my guests like family, which allows people to open up in ways they may not in other settings. KandyRantz isn’t just about entertainment; it’s about connection and giving a platform to voices that deserve to be amplified.

What I’m most proud of is building this platform from the ground up, even during seasons of self-doubt and inconsistency. I didn’t have a huge team, major connections, or all the answers when I started. I simply had a vision and the determination to keep going. Seeing artists trust me with their stories, watching listeners engage with the content, and knowing that I’ve created a space where people can be unapologetically themselves means everything to me.

What sets me apart is my authenticity. I genuinely care about the people who sit across from me. I’m not chasing viral moments—I’m focused on meaningful conversations and creating a community where Atlanta’s socialites, creatives, and everyday people can come together, support one another, and feel represented. At KandyRantz, every guest has a story worth telling, and I’m honored to help tell it.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a natural risk-taker, but I’ve learned that growth requires you to get comfortable being uncomfortable. For me, risk isn’t about making reckless decisions—it’s about believing in yourself enough to pursue something even when you don’t have guarantees that it’ll work out.

One of the biggest risks I took was starting KandyRantz in the first place. I didn’t have a big production team, a large budget, industry connections, or a blueprint to follow. I was stepping into a space that can be intimidating, especially as a woman trying to build relationships and establish credibility in media. There were moments when I questioned whether people would take me seriously or if anyone would even tune in. But I decided that the fear of never trying was greater than the fear of failing.

I’ve also taken risks by putting myself out there and reaching out to guests and potential collaborators, even after facing rejection or unanswered messages. Networking hasn’t always come naturally to me, and there have been times when I doubted myself. But every conversation, every ‘no,’ and every uncomfortable introduction taught me something valuable and helped me build confidence.

My perspective on risk has changed over time. I used to think risk meant having everything to lose. Now, I see it as betting on yourself and trusting that even if things don’t go exactly as planned, you’ll gain experience, wisdom, and resilience. The biggest risk, in my opinion, is allowing fear to keep you from pursuing what you’re passionate about.

KandyRantz is proof of that. It exists because I chose to take a chance on an idea, on my voice, and on the possibility that what I had to offer mattered. And if I’ve learned anything through this journey, it’s that some of the most rewarding opportunities come from taking that first scary step.
