Inspiring Conversations with The Full “Monti” Morris of TFM Brand LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Full “Monti” Morris.

Hi Monti, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well I started off with Ayo Smith at Ayo’s V.I.Ps. I left there and went to work for modern Madam C.J Walker, The Queen of Natural Hair Taliah Waajid. After receiving my Cosmetology License in 2013 from Atlanta Technical College, I continued to work with Taliah Waajid, on branding photoshoots, platform styling, which led me to becoming her show stage coordinator for the 1st and only Natural Hair show giving in the middle of New York’s Times Square! I opened up TFM Naturalites Llc., located 2941 Legion Way, East Point, GA 30344, in 2016. In April 2016, The Full Monti invaded the U.K with my Naturalites Bootcamp, where I teach a 3 day training course covering everything from natural hair twisting and braiding, followed up by dred”lock” touch ups, styles and repairs, to Protective styling techniques.

In December 2025, I received my Trichology certifications from USTI (United States Trichology Institute), and AMCA (American Medical Certification Association). I have been practicing Trichology ever since. I am still teaching at the #1 Natural Hair Show in the world; Taliah Waajid presents The World Natural Health and Beauty Expo.

In 2022, I published Naturalcation: Education on all things Natural. And in 2026, I published Naturalcation Volume 2; HOTT LOKS

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to get here has not been easy. I had have life situation happen to me in this journey. COVID was a huge reset. I lost a lot of clients during COVID. Then while trying to recover I was targeted and hit and run by an SUV. I couldn’t walk for 2 weeks and couldn’t work for 6 months. I am a solo salon, so staying a float, while recovering has been tuff. I am still on the road of recovery financially, emotionally, and spiritually.

But through the grace of GOD, and my Granni-Gyrl, HERE I AM!

I have been articles published international and nationally. Currently furthering my education at Atlanta Technical College to become a Cosmetology Educator.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up in a few different states. I lived in Richmond, Va., Newark, Nj., Houston, Tx., and Las Vegas, N.V. Growing up I up I enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing with dolls. I grew up gay as the great outdoors (think fields of sunflowers, tulip and daisies, baby dear, and bunny rabbits). I was into the arts, singing, dancing, and playing with hair a little. I ran track a short time but athletics weren’t really my thing. but singing in the locker room was. I was an outgoing kid. Skating, riding bikes, skateboarding, racing, playing with jack rocks, and jumping Double Dutch. I was admitted on a full scholarship to the Richmond Ballet School of Dance since 5. Danced in the Nutcracker until 12. I had a dance group that used to dance on T.V dance competitions in Richmond, Va. I moved to Vegas in high school. I started a pep club, where we danced before the basketball and football games. In Las Vegas, I taught African dance, and had a singing group. I traveled with a traveling African production called, Shango, the story of how African music influenced American music and culture.

I went to Las Vegas Academy of International Studies Visual and performing Arts its opening year making us the pioneering sophomore class of that school. I moved to back to Virginia, and continued my African Dance journey with Ezibu Muntu professional African Dance troop, and started voguing. When I arrived in Atlanta, I continued to vogue and became an Icon in the ballroom scene.
