Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Moravec.
Kelsey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My love for this industry started long before beauty school. Growing up, I was the girl flipping through magazines, completely mesmerized — studying every look, every detail. I would dream about being the one behind those pages, doing the hair and makeup, traveling the world, making people feel as beautiful as they looked. Because I knew that feeling firsthand: when my own hair and makeup were done, I felt beautiful — confident, radiant, like the fullest version of myself. I wanted to give that feeling to everyone.
So I went to beauty school and chased that dream with everything I had. Early on, I signed with agencies including Ford and Wilhelmina, which opened the door to campaign and editorial work with brands like Claire’s, Smashbox, and Teen Vogue. Those years taught me how to perform under pressure, work on set, and deliver a flawless look that holds up on camera.
That on-camera experience eventually brought me to Atlanta, where I became the lead artist for a morning television show — getting talent camera-ready before sunrise, every single day. It was the ultimate masterclass in speed, precision, and consistency.
But the longer I worked in TV, the more I realized my favorite part of the job wasn’t the cameras — it was the people in my chair. The trust, the transformation, the moment someone looks in the mirror and feels like the best version of themselves. So I took the leap and went all in on my own business.
Today, after 14+ years in the industry, I run Beauti Bestie, a luxury mobile beauty experience serving events, editorial, and corporate clients across Atlanta. Everything I learned on set and on camera now comes directly to my clients — wherever they need to look and feel their absolute best. It’s the work I was always meant to do, and honestly? I’m just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road — I don’t think any meaningful career is. For me, one of the biggest struggles has been learning who to trust in this industry. Beauty can be competitive in a way people don’t always see from the outside, and I learned early on that not everyone who smiles at you is rooting for you. Everyone is hustling, and sometimes that means people are only looking out for themselves.
But instead of letting that make me guarded or bitter, it shaped my entire mission. It’s actually why I named my business Beauti Bestie — because that name is my promise. To be loyal, honest, and trustworthy, not only to my clients but to my fellow artists. I want to be the person in this industry that I needed when I was coming up.
What those harder seasons taught me is that who you surround yourself with is everything. Being around uplifting, supportive people isn’t just nice to have — it’s the goal. When you build genuine community instead of competition, everybody rises. And that’s the energy I bring into every room, every set, and every client’s chair.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional hair and makeup artist with over 14 years in the industry, and the owner of Beauti Bestie, a luxury mobile beauty experience based in Atlanta. I specialize in event, editorial, and corporate beauty — everything from red carpet-worthy glam and on-camera looks to polished, professional styling for executives and brand shoots. My background includes agency representation, national campaigns, editorial work, and years as a lead artist in morning television, so my specialty is creating looks that are flawless in person and hold up beautifully on camera.
What I’m known for is the experience just as much as the artistry. Beauti Bestie is fully mobile — I bring the studio to you. Your home, your office, your hotel suite, your set. My clients are busy, and I built my business around making beauty feel effortless and personal, never rushed or transactional.
What am I most proud of? Honestly, building this from nothing but a dream and a kit. I left a coveted TV position to bet on myself, and every client who rebooks, refers a friend, or tells me they’ve never felt more beautiful reminds me why I did it.
And what sets me apart is right there in the name. Beauti Bestie is my promise — to be loyal, honest, and trustworthy with every person in my chair. You’re not just getting an artist with editorial-level skill; you’re getting someone who genuinely cares about how you feel when you look in the mirror. That combination of high-level artistry and real connection is the heart of everything I do.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people are surprised to learn that I grew up in a tiny town of about 500 people — and I was not the glam girl. I was the girl playing sports! Nobody who knew me back then would have guessed I’d end up working in fashion and beauty, on set with magazines and television.
But honestly, I think that’s my secret weapon. Sports taught me how to be a team player — to show up for the people around me, lift others up, and understand that the win is never about just one person. That’s exactly how I move through this industry, whether I’m collaborating with other artists on set or making sure my client feels supported every step of the way
