Rising Stars: Meet Fonda Sloan of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fonda Sloan.

Hi Fonda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story is a journey of faith, strategy, and resilience, built on the belief that everything must be done “decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40).

It began in New York within healthcare administration, where I mastered operational excellence. Eleven years ago, I brought that drive to Atlanta, shifting from the corporate world to entrepreneurship.

My first leap was launching Mood by Sloane, a custom clothing design brand born from a vision to “write the vision and make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2).
In the midst of building my business, life called me to a deeper level of servant leadership. I became the primary caregiver for my aging parents until they passed—a season that tested my resilience and taught me the true meaning of “honor your father and your mother” (Exodus 20:12).

That profound experience reshaped my mission. I returned to the business world with a passion for financial empowerment, eventually becoming a Sales Director and running Sloane Financial Consultants.

Today, I host daily accountability calls and weekly empowerment sessions, dedicated to teaching financial literacy and wealth building because “a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children” (Proverbs 13:22).
Ultimately, I am where I am today because I am driven by legacy—honoring the strength of my parents and clearing a path of faith and financial freedom for my twin grandsons.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, but the struggles are exactly what refined my purpose.

The biggest challenge was balancing the demands of building businesses while stepping into the role of primary caregiver for my aging parents until they passed.

Navigating that deeply emotional season while keeping my professional momentum required immense resilience. It was a masterclass in faith and strength, reminding me to “honor your father and your mother” (Exodus 20:12) no matter the personal cost.

Additionally, transitioning from the corporate structure of New York healthcare to the unpredictable waters of Atlanta entrepreneurship—first with Mood by Sloane and later in financial consulting—brought its own hurdles. It required constant adaptation, strategic pivots, and the unwavering faith to “write the vision and make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2) even when the path ahead looked uncertain. Every trial was simply preparation for the legacy I am building today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I operate at the intersection of structure, style, and stewardship.

Professionally, I am a Sales Director and the founder of Sloane Financial Consultant , where I specialize in restoring personal credit and helping business owners obtain business credit. My focus is teaching entrepreneurs how to protect themselves by separating their corporate identity from their personal credit, and showing them how to strategically leverage OPM (Other People’s Money) to scale. I am also the creative force behind Mood by Sloane, my custom clothing design company.

I am known for my execution, daily morning accountability calls, and weekly empowerment sessions where I help people take control of their financial futures. I am most proud of my resilience—specifically how I managed to build my businesses while honoring and caring for my aging parents until their passing.

What sets me apart is my foundation of servant leadership.

I don’t just build businesses for profit; I build them to provide a blueprint for others. Guided by the principle that “a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children” (Proverbs 13:22), my work is entirely dedicated to shifting mindsets, building financial freedom, and securing a lasting legacy for the next generation.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about Atlanta is the undeniable spirit of opportunity and community. This city holds an incredibly special place in my heart because the credit for my entire entrepreneurial journey belongs right here. Moving here 11 years ago from New York provided the perfect canvas for me to launch Mood by Sloane and start Sloane financial consultants. And renewing my relationship with Christ, being a proud Memeber of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia Georgia

. Atlanta has a unique, magnetic energy that fosters Black excellence, collaboration, and innovation. It is a place where you can truly “write the vision and make it plain,” surrounded by a community that wants to see you win, build wealth, and create a lasting legacy.

What I like least is a challenge that comes with that massive growth: the infrastructure struggles and the traffic. Coming from New York, I’m used to a fast pace, but Atlanta’s gridlock can definitely test your patience! Because everything is so spread out, navigating the city requires a lot of extra planning, which can sometimes slow down the natural momentum of a busy day.
