Check Out Dayna Laribo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dayna Laribo.

Hi Dayna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It was New Year’s Eve, I was contemplating with myself on whether or not I truly wanted to continue my career in law or actually be happy and proud of what I do for a living. I’ve always been a fan of nail techs. How they can literally sculpt, build, paint nails into actual art always amazed me. I frequently went to the nail salon and would always ask techs, how did you learn how to do this, what got you interested? But where I was from, there weren’t really any black nail salons and not many black nail techs that I knew, other than one in college, Vanessa, she’s a beast based out of Greenville, SC. My Tiktok algorithm was infested with nail techs, how to’s and success stories of other women so i took the leap and purchased my first nail kit (Beetles), found the nearest nail supply store near my job and I’ve been practicing ever since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been the smoothest road. Losing my job at the law firm in February was a battle all in itself– Doordashing to keep the bills paid while still making sets and posting content weekly just to stay visible. And in the middle of all of that, losing my sister took a real toll on me and on the dream I’ve been building. But I kept going.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the founder of Signature Strokes Nails, a luxury custom press-on nail brand based in the Atlanta area. I specialize in high-detail artisan sets- we’re talking hand-painted designs, sculpted 3D elements, rhinestones, and luxury finishes that are built to look like you just left a high-end salon.

What sets me apart is that every set is completely custom. I don’t do cookie-cutter. Each client gets a wearable piece of art designed specifically for them.

What I’m most proud of is that I’m entirely self-taught. I started in January with no formal training and built a brand from the ground up-the aesthetic, the pricing, the client experience, all of it. Signature Strokes isn’t just nails. It’s a luxury experience at every touchpoint.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Atlanta is all about the culture. It brings people from all walks of life together- the creativity, the hustle, the community support is unlike anywhere else. What I like least is definitely the TRAFFIC. The city is growing fast and the infrastructure hasn’t caught up yet, but honestly that can’t outweigh what Atlanta has to offer.

Pricing:

  • Sizing Kits – $10
  • Simple Sets – $25
  • Custom Sets starting at $45
  • Luxury Sets starting at $75
  • Add ons are available (3D elements, charms, rhinestones)
