Today we’d like to introduce you to Brendan Lee.
Hi Brendan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got my commercial photography degree (AA) from Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, GA. Moved to Boston, MA to assist commercial photographers but ended up going back to my original degree (Chemistry) and working in chemical laboratories. Moved back to Georgia in 2013 and continued working in laboratories. Eventually, I decided to make use of my photography knowledge and found a program online called REPP (Real Estate Photograper Pro). Started my business in the fall of 2024 and I live in Cumming, GA. My territory is the suburbs north of Atlanta, and sometimes inside the Perimeter.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been smooth. It is time consuming to find realtors and get my business known in the area, and also a struggle to get them to leave their current photographer. It is a numbers game and the goal is to contact as many realtors as possible to find the ones that are willing to give me a try. I have gotten a lot of recent work from hiring a person who does cold calling for me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about BL Real Estate Media?
I provide real estate media for local realtors. This includes professional quality photos, videos, floorplans, 3D tours, aerial photos and videos, social media reels, and realtors’ headshots. My business is distinguished by the fact that my software creates a Property Website for realtors’ listings, and I also offer a pay at close option. Also, I offer a free shoot to first time customers so they can see firsthand the quality work that I provide.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
The Atlanta metropolitan area is a big territory so there are a lot of things to do, such as watching the sports teams (Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and United) and good restaurants. This isn’t going to come as a surprise to any of the locals but the traffic is pretty bad. Atlanta doesn’t have an extensive mass transit system so everyone has to drive to get around.
