Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Wani.

Hi Imani, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
my name is imani wani moses the founder and executive director of smile for peace innovation center, i started smile for peace innovation center in 2024 may, i used to move in my community , reaching out to people, asking them about their lives ,their stories. mostly my focus was women and children, i was receiving sad stories, the story that, up to now they still touches me .
during my visit , i used to go with, different, items to support them,like , clothes, soap, food, etc
during does days, my goal was to understand what really people needs, what normally, that one problems that my community still facing ,thanks to God people were receiving me well, and the were open to me , most of them,there were saying we need food, we need clothes , shoes, school fees, something that i loved i my self , when i was hearing from women that ,we want to stand for our self , we want to have something to be doing so that we can support our families , i may self i was not expecting, or having any idea of how can stand ,something that, will support them ,something that was, making me miss a sleep. a good things i started posting my work on social media , sharing some stories ,even some stories, could be removed by the social media owning by them self but a kept posting
i received a person who,was interesting with my stories, work, and then l, reached out to me and I explanted my work , and vision about my community , that person became interested and told me that will help me to by for me a land where i can be currying out my work and help my community from.
in 2025 September, i was able to build and up to now am having 5 class room that are supporting them women and children in education.
am, now even , introducing sport program, to children,both boys and girls and I also introducing sewing program to women, which is supporting 150 women and youth , with three sewing machines , i have a program, I also have this program which is helping girls , which’s girls to girls lead, and me to program for both girls and boys
we have a program called hope again which is for giving the children a cup of porridge,

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
our programs are still facing a lot of challenges due to finical problems there’s no support for our activities
more help is still need, at least a support that will help this youth who are volunteering to help our activities move!
we are still luck of opportunities for our initiative to grow
we are still struggling to grow our activities that we implemented to support the community.
