Rising Stars: Meet Witma Nav of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Witma Nav.

Hi Witma, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in Haiti and moved to the US at 12 years old, so you can imagine the cultural changes. I carry a deep love and pride for my Haitian roots, and I am endlessly grateful to my family for the path they paved to give me these opportunities..

I’ve lived in Georgia since 2016. At the time, I lived in Marietta with my family, but I moved to Atlanta by myself in 2022. That’s when I was exposed to the concept of modeling. I became interested in it through some old acquaintances. I attended this Michael Jackson-themed fashion show they were in, and I just remember the production and the clothes being so good I was convinced from there.

Shortly after that, I joined Infinite Appeal, a modeling organization at Georgia State University. A huge shoutout to IA, they are the foundation of my career. They’ve helped built up my confidence to become the model/creative I am today.

After a year or two, it clicked for me this is something I actually love. Every time I was in a fashion show or attended one, a casting, or a photoshoot, it brought me so much joy and I just love the energy.

A big piece of this journey for me has been connecting with people. Castings and shows have helped me make some of my closest relationships and connections. Modeling has helped me discover who I am and what I’m interested in. I’ve gotten to work with amazing creatives and be a part of some meaningful campaigns. It opened my eyes to creative directing, styling, and so much more. It completely changed the lens I see the world in.

Right now, I am signed with RYA Models. I’ve been with them for about a year now, and I couldn’t ask for a better mother agency. They’ve helped me see just how far I can take this, and constantly remind me that I never have to limit myself to just one lane.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been an easy journey. There were many moments of self-doubt, mental struggles, or simply dealing with physical illnesses that would arise and put me in a freeze state. At times, I had no choice but to let opportunities pass me by because of my own lack of confidence or unexpected life challenges.

When I first stepped into the industry, I had been working at my first corporate job for about a year. I had to move very cautiously as a result. At the time, I wasn’t sure where modeling fit into my life, and I didn’t want to risk losing my job. I frequently had to miss out on casting calls and events that I wanted to attend.

Still, I never gave up. Through it all, I’m still here pursuing my dreams and going harder than ever.every challenge helps me grow and brings me one step closer to my goals

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
On a creative level, I’ve grown into a lifestyle content creator and a multifaceted model. My content focuses on lifestyle, wellness, mental health, fashion, and so much more. A huge part of what I do is sharing my story, motivating others, celebrating the good things in life, and documenting my travels. Looking back, I am most proud of myself for pushing past my comfort zones, truly finding my voice, and learning to let people into my world.

I’ve worked in the law field for about three years now so career wise that’s where I am. I’m still figuring out what I want to do. I’m a girl with many dreams.

I truly believe my background and my beliefs set me apart from everyone else. Even if someone else has similar goals, there are certain things that I will not tolerate or go for in my career. My story is a big part of who I am, and I want to share it to inspire others to stand firmly in their own truths.

What matters most to you? Why?
I’m a very sentimental person, so everything matters to me! But if I had to pick what matters most, it is supporting and cheering for one another. I say that because I know exactly what it feels like to not have anyone rooting for you. Growing up, I didn’t receive that kind of support, so I had to learn how to find my own drive. That experience made me highly empathetic. Because of that journey, I love bringing positive energy into a room and being a cheerleader for others. Lately, I’ve also realized how important it is to remember your “why” keeping that purpose close to your heart is what keeps you on the right track when things get tough.
