Today we’d like to introduce you to Myah Young.
Myah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia. Growing up, I was pretty reserved, but I was always the friend recording everything. I loved capturing memories and having those moments to look back on later.
I’ve also always loved food and the way it brings people together. To me, dining has never been just about the food. It’s about the experience, the conversations, and the memories made along the way. I’ve always enjoyed trying new things and finding new places, so when you put all of that together, content creation felt like a natural fit.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like anything, content creation has had its ups and downs. One of my biggest challenges was perfectionism. When I first started, I wanted every video to be perfect before I posted it. That mindset led to inconsistency and a lot of self-doubt.
Eventually, I realized I just had to start posting. The only way to improve is by putting in the reps, and looking at my work now, I can definitely see how much I’ve grown. I had to fall in love with the process of creating rather than focusing solely on the end result. Once I shifted my mindset, creating content became much more enjoyable, and I was able to show up more consistently and confidently.
I also stopped creating based solely on what I thought the algorithm wanted and started making videos that I genuinely enjoy watching myself. That shift allowed me to be more authentic, have more fun with my content, and build a style that feels true to who I am.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Aside from my 9-to-5, I work as a social media manager with a focus on the hospitality industry. Whether it’s restaurants, hotels, events, or service-based businesses like med spas, I help brands tell their stories and connect with their audiences online.
With a background in hospitality, particularly in the restaurant industry, I have the unique perspective of understanding both sides of the experience as a consumer and as someone who has worked behind the scenes. That allows me to approach content and marketing through both lenses, creating strategies that resonate with customers while supporting business goals.
I’m also building Rooted, a faith-based community for young adults. I created this space to bring people together and remind them that they are not alone in their walk with Christ. My goal is to foster genuine connection, encourage spiritual growth, and create a community where young adults can navigate life and faith alongside one another.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is being who God called me to be. It’s showing up as my authentic self, serving others, and creating meaningful memories along the way. It’s being a student of life, staying open to growth, and learning from every experience.
No matter where life takes me, success is continuing to be myself in every room I walk into. It’s living with purpose, staying grounded in my faith, and using my gifts to make a positive impact on the people around me.
