Life & Work with Realwarmwinter of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Realwarmwinter.

Hi realwarmwinter, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as a poet. I casually freestyled with my friends often, but one day I showed my friend a verse I wrote and left him speechless. He told me I should start being serious about music. That was around 2016. I didn’t become “realwarmwinter” until 2022. I still have a long way to go, but I grew my audience by having relentless dedication over these past 4 years. So many loses. So many failures. Despite it all I continue to show up. No matter what.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Far from smooth ! Definitely a lot of ups and downs. Learning media has been my biggest challenge so far. Ive always been a capable artist, but I realized early I need visuals. It’s not enough to just put a link on your Instagram story. You have to put yourself in position to be noticed.
It’s easier to get followers than to get people to actually LISTEN TO THE MUSIC.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a songwriter, rapper, musician, film maker, creative director, & photographer. In Atlanta I’ve built a subsection of people who only know me as a photographer. I’m proud of the connection’s photography has brought me. In an over saturated market of musicians, I’ve been in rooms I feel my music initially wouldn’t have gotten me into just off the sole fact until you truly “breakthrough” most perceive you as just another “rapper” regardless of talent level or if they’ve even heard your music. What sets me apart is substance. My music is full of substance. I’m not overly “hip hip hoppy” either I make it digestible to the casual listener. Subtly dropping gems while keeping the viewers’ attention. I’m a visual wordsmith. Almost everything I say you can visualize in a real way.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
“The Power of Now.” This book changed my entire life. I feel I had a rebirth of myself after reading this book.
“Feel The Fear & Do It Anyway”. “The Alchemist” Just a few off the top of my head. I Literally COULD HAVE A WHOLE INTERVIEW JUST ABOUT BOOKS. I feel my favorite are spiritual self-help books.
