Hi Amber, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
People often ask how Pretty Kuntry came to life. The truth is, it wasn’t built overnight, it’s the result of a lifetime of experiences coming together, even before I realized it.

I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, attending Creative Arts Education schools where dance was my focus. Performing became second nature. When I moved to a traditional high school, I stayed connected to dance, performing all four years, joining the marching band, and staying involved in everything I could.

I’ve always wanted to experience life fully. I played sports, loved the outdoors, and was always creating or learning something new. Even as Charlotte grew into a major city, my upbringing still felt country. I spent time outside, around animals and horses because my older brother was deeply involved with them. Like most little sisters, I tagged along, but eventually, those horses became my peace too.

That passion followed me to North Carolina A&T State University, where I studied Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in Speech Communication. College expanded my world. I kept dancing, performed in productions, joined organizations, and worked alongside artists and creatives. It taught me that storytelling isn’t just written or filmed, sometimes it’s simply lived.

After college, my career led me through television, media production, live events, photography, digital marketing, and community engagement. Each experience added another piece to the puzzle. Looking back, I see God wasn’t pulling me in different directions, He was preparing me to bring it all together.

That’s how Pretty Kuntry was born.

For a long time, people thought I had to choose, between media and horses, fashion and country, line dancing and content creation, or embracing country culture and my identity as a Black woman.

I never believed that.

Pretty Kuntry is my answer. It proves you can be both. You can wear boots and heels, host events and ride horses, love the outdoors, create content, teach line dancing, and still be fully yourself.

The journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced setbacks, loss, and seasons of rebuilding. But those moments refined me. They strengthened my faith, built my resilience, and reminded me that purpose often grows in the unseen.

Today, Pretty Kuntry is more than a brand, it’s a lifestyle rooted in confidence, healing, community, and culture. It’s about giving people permission to embrace every part of who they are without apology.

If someone leaves an event or conversation with me feeling more confident, seen, or inspired to chase a dream, then I’ve done exactly what I was created to do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been a lot of highs, but there have also been some really hard seasons. I’ve experienced loss, financial setbacks, moments where I had to rebuild from the ground up, and times when I questioned if I was even on the right path. I’ve had doors close, people doubt me, and opportunities that didn’t work out the way I had hoped.

But every setback taught me something. It taught me patience, resilience, and how to keep showing up even when no one was watching. I learned that your purpose isn’t measured by how fast things happen, it’s measured by how willing you are to keep going when life gets uncomfortable.

There were moments when I had to fall back, not because I had given up, but because I needed to heal, refocus, and become a stronger version of myself. That’s something a lot of people don’t see. They see the events, the line dancing, the horses, the confidence, and the brand, but they don’t always see the work, the sacrifices, the tears, or the prayers behind it.

Today, I can honestly say I don’t regret the journey. Every challenge shaped me into the woman I’m becoming. It strengthened my faith in God, deepened my character, and reminded me that success isn’t just about reaching a destination, it’s about becoming the person who can handle the blessings when they arrive.

So no, it hasn’t been a smooth road. But it’s been a meaningful one, and I believe my greatest chapters are still ahead of me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I wear a lot of hats, but at the heart of everything I do, I’m a creator, entrepreneur, host, media personality, and community builder. Through Pretty Kuntry, I’ve built a brand that blends country lifestyle, line dancing, horseback riding, entertainment, and women’s empowerment into one authentic experience. Whether I’m hosting an event, teaching a dance class, creating content, producing media, or bringing people together, my goal is always the same, to make people feel seen, confident, and inspired.

One thing people notice about me is that I can command a room with confidence and poise, but I never take myself too seriously. I love being polished and feminine, but I’m also naturally goofy, down-to-earth, and full of personality. I think that’s what makes people feel comfortable around me. They see the confidence, but they also see the heart behind it.

I’m proud of every event I’ve built, every opportunity I’ve created from the ground up, and every time I’ve chosen to keep going when life gave me every reason to quit. Success isn’t just about the wins you post online, it’s about having the courage to keep showing up through the setbacks. That’s something no one can take away from me.

What sets me apart is my ability to bridge different worlds. I can walk into a corporate room, step onto a stage with thousands of people, teach a line dance in a field, saddle up on a horse, or create content that connects with people from all walks of life, and still be authentically myself. I don’t believe in fitting into one box. I believe in creating my own lane.

For me, the ultimate goal isn’t fame or recognition, it’s freedom. Freedom to create. Freedom to inspire. Freedom to build generational wealth. Freedom to spend time with the people I love. Freedom to wake up every day knowing I’m living in my purpose. That’s what I work toward every single day, and that’s the legacy I hope to leave behind.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First and foremost, all glory belongs to God. My faith has been the foundation of everything I do. There have been moments when I didn’t have all the answers, the resources, or the strength to keep going, but God continued to open doors, provide opportunities, and remind me that my purpose is greater than my circumstances. None of this would be possible without Him.

I also have to give credit to my parents. My mother instilled in me strength, resilience, compassion, and the determination to keep moving forward, even when life gets hard. Those lessons have carried me through some of my most challenging seasons.

My late father continues to inspire me every day. Even though he’s no longer here, the legacy he began is something I carry with pride. He taught me the value of dreaming bigger than my circumstances, and so much of what I’m building today is about honoring that foundation and creating something that will outlive me.

I’m incredibly thankful for the cowgirls and horsewomen who welcomed me, shared their knowledge, and encouraged me to continue embracing a lifestyle that has always felt like home. Their guidance and authenticity have shaped not only my horsemanship but also my confidence.

I’m equally grateful for my line dancing community. What started as a shared love for dance has grown into a true sisterhood. They’ve celebrated my wins, encouraged me through setbacks, supported my events, and reminded me that community is one of the greatest gifts an entrepreneur can have.

My close cousins and lifelong friends have also been a constant source of love and encouragement. They’ve believed in my vision, spoken life into me when I needed it most, shown up when it mattered, and reminded me to keep going even when the journey felt uncertain.

Success is never built by one person alone. Behind every dream is a village of people who pray for you, believe in you, challenge you, and celebrate you. I’m grateful for every mentor, supporter, client, collaborator, family member, and friend who has been part of my journey. Each of them has left a fingerprint on the woman I am today, and I’ll never take that for granted.
