J. Billions, a celebrity hairstylist and all around beauty entrepreneur specializing in a variety of hair extension services. Owner of Beauty Worth Billions and creator of No More Boring hair Billions was Born in (Richmond, Va) but raised in Baltimore, Md. At the tender age of 14, her platform would be to highlight and add volume in providing beautification of women. As a young child, she always loved the glow and confidence a woman received after leaving the hair salon. Initially starting off as a shampoo assistant soon advancing to a lead salon braider.
Billions passion for the beauty industry intensified. Under the apprenticeship of her Godmother, who was a well-known stylist at the time, Billions had the opportunity to develop a strong network of clientele and build up her confidence to venture out on her own and pursue her childhood dream. Taking a leap of faith Billions stepped from under the shadow of her Godmother to start “Beauty Worth Billions and a quality extensions line “Billions Luxury Extensions.
Today Billions has worked with influential tastemakers and style experts in the industry, Renee Graziano from Mob Wives, Cardi B, K Michelle, The Elite Petite Entertainment personality, Future, Love and Hip Hop Stars, Rich Homie Quan and Young Jezzy video shoot just to name a few. Her sold-out Lace Overload Extension course and Billions of Vivid Color course hosted here in Atlanta, Ga, Las Vegas, Las Angeles, California, New York as well as a higher artist to educate at Paul Mitchell School of Esani.
Billions continue to create more leaders in the beauty industry. Previously participated as a guest judge and educator at a few beauty shows knows as Bronner Brothers, Premier Orlando, and Beauty in Detroit. Realizing that being content in life or in your career is not an option, Billions continue to build a larger brand to inspire up and coming artist to follow their dreams, and with consistency and hard work, Billions and nothing less is possible.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Many obstacles and challenges, that’s the beauty behind being an entrepreneur, but I never give up! About a year ago I had a huge Obstacle/Challenge with a celebrity client, but you’ll have to stay tuned for the story. One thing that I’ve learned about obstacles is … without failure, there is no success.
Beauty Worth Billions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Beauty Worth Billions is a growing Beauty Brand that provides quality services and products to consumers. We continue to stand apart from other beauty brands by succeeding in our specifics through extensions. With our lead hairstylist (Billions Wimberley) specializing in everything extensions of all installs. Such services include Lace frontals, lace closures, full lace wigs, natural install, custom extensions coloring, custom wig making and so many others.
This also allows us to continue to build our brand through other beauty avenues. For example, our Quality extensions can be purchased in store to our loyal clients or online around the United States. These options to purchase our extensions helps us to expand our brand worldwide.
Another influential avenue that we take full advantage of is offering further education to other growing hairstylist and customers. Providing customers with knowledge on how to maintain their extensions outside of the salon, keeps them shopping quality and coming back for services. Providing knowledge to growing hairstylist allows us the opportunity to share our experiences with people who also share the same passion and journey as us.
Beauty worth Billions is not here to charge people a billion dollars for our services or products, but instead, remind customers that they are worth Billions but do not have to spend Billions to feel or look like it.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To even consider being successful, you must first be a Leader! Leaders create more leader, build people up to their full potential, provide opportunity, build from scratch, never give up, set great examples, give and takes wisdom, motivate, and inspires along their journey. All explaining who Billions is and what the Billions Brand stands for.
As far as I have come on this journey I know for a fact that success is next, and not just for me but for everyone who I am paving the way for! Wanting it more than most assume, I continue to take full advantage of any opportunity that fits into what it will take for me to become successful. I remember running away from everything that seemed to be bigger than me until I realized that I am and will become as big and successful as my mind allows me to be.
Keeping that mindset helps me to run face on towards everything that may scare me or anything that puts a small bit of fear into my chest. Learning from my past to go after everything that scares me, those things have only made me a better person and helped my business to be better. To even think about being successful should scare anyone. It is not just about saying you’re successful it’s about living it out.
Hardwork, dedication, consistency, and a little bit of crying behind closed doors to fight for everything you believe in. That is just the minimum of what it takes to be successful, and what being successful means to me.
