Meet Founder of United Collab: Gene Keserica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gene Keserica.

Gene, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started as a small startup almost three years ago with a belief that we could change the way businesses utilize creative services. It’s commonplace to talk about forming partnerships with clients, but in reality, it’s extremely difficult to truly learn their goals and the hurdles they face when you’re juggling a dozen different clients. Instead, we choose to focus on key clients and dedicated teams that get in and really understand their business and market. It’s because of that dedication that we’ve been fortunate to work with and become trusted advisors to some of the leading companies in Georgia.

Has it been a smooth road?
We constantly experience growing pains with scheduling and project management. Learning how to always be available to our clients while still being able to disconnect from work is a challenge.

When you look back, what are you most proud of?
Looking back now, my proudest moment would be taking that first step to start the agency. It was one of the hardest mental hurdles I’ve ever faced. I was running full speed on a mix of adrenaline and fear.

Every story has ups and downs. What were some of the downs others might not be aware of?
One of my personal struggles was dealing with the everyday ups and downs. In the beginning, your constantly in-between working on existing projects and chasing new ones. You have to be ready to go around the clock.

From an operations standpoint, one of our biggest struggles was defining our process. We finally realized it’s futile to try and package how we solve a problem or grow an opportunity. Every client and situation is unique and requires a tailored approach.

What’s your outlook for the industry in our city?
We love Atlanta. The area is rapidly growing, which has brought forth some of the best companies and talents. Compared to other cities the cost of living is much lower and new opportunities are everywhere.
