Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronnika Ann McFall.
Ronnika Ann, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I have dedicated my adult life to helping others through Communications, Public Relations, Event Planning, and Brand Management.
With eight-plus years of experience in leadership, event planning, production, public relations, and journalism; my most recent attributes have come from her contributions to Yellow Pages Corporate Marketing Team, The Sun Herald Newspaper, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, ABC’s WAPT Channel 16 and the American Red Cross.
As a result of my vast experiences, I wrote and self-published three (3) books; which produced a nationwide tour under my public relations training and consulting service platform, PR for a Day. I will be continuing my tour in 2019. With my role as PR and Communications Director consistently evolving, I have completed nationwide and local campaigns for various businesses, award shows, nonprofits, lifestyle brands, and entertainers. My latest venture McFall Ever After Special Occasions, which I run with my husband Carlton McFall Jr.; focuses on relationship tips, etiquette enlightenment, intimate weddings, and lifestyle event planning.
I received my Master’s in Business Administration from American InterContinental University, and I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mass Communications from Jackson State University. I am a lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Because of all of my achievements, I was awarded the “Keys to the City” from my hometown, Biloxi, Ms. Ronnika’s Day is officially celebrated on January 4th.

In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
I actually talk about this in my latest book “Putting the PR Back in EntrePReneurship” Part II. Balancing personal and business is a normal struggle. Women face many challenges such as dealings with their love life, personal family goals and so much more. However, I believe these challenges are meant to be faced. Women Entrepreneurs can be mothers, wives and so much more. It is just important to understand that YOU WILL have to sacrifice a lot of things to grow a successful business. Understand you cannot have everything at one time, but you can have everything if you tackle them one at a time.
Our biggest challenge is social media, comparing ourselves to others and not separating their business and personal brands.
When I started my business, I was fresh out of college, past university campus queen and so many other things. Living in Atlanta and being from a small town caused a lot of attention and pressure to put on my shoulders. Today social media for the average person is used to update people about their school status, location, current mood, etc. Slowly I started to use social media in another way. I didn’t want to put my current mood, location and other personal information on my social media pages because honestly, I didn’t know what those answers were myself. As a business owner that wanted to be taken seriously; I had to remove Ronnika Joyner and insert Ronnika Ann into the world of social media. That’s right, I created a business alter ego for the world to see, and I kept Ronnika A. McFall for my family and friends.
Ronnika Ann was born, and Ronnika A. McFall became a private, fun and personal person to her internal circle. However, Ronnika Ann became a professional being; sharing quotes, educational articles and business tips on social media. This was my beginning way of me balancing business and personal. So when “competitors and haters” started to attack my business, I never took it personally, because they really didn’t know me. They knew what I wanted them to know about me. I was my personal publicist and only shared about me what I wanted to share on social media.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
