Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Eppers.
Rogue Hair Studio is an upscale private studio with Hair Artist Melissa Eppers (Meacham). Rogue is an established salon of 6 years and is Melissa’s vision and work. Her work is published online, in print, and featured with Modern Salon Magazine, Behindthechair.com, Hot On Beauty Magazine, Tigi Professional, Beauty Addicts, Hairstyle Addicts, Pravana, Matrix, Hair Addiction Magazine, Estetica Magazine USA, and countless other leading names in the hair industry. She is a sponsored artist with Brazillian Bond Builder and with VPFashion Extensions with countless viral videos and pictures. Her clients also include internationally known Cosplayer and Costume Designer Yaya Han, Cosplayer Riddle, Bewitched Raven Cosplay, Beauty and Lifestyle Vlogger Savannah Wallace, and many more. Melissa says,“I believe in my art and helping people express themselves through image.” Hair Artist Melissa Eppers has been in the image industry for over 13 years and has worked for herself for almost 10 years. Before she was a salon owner and stylist she used to book and promote bands so it was an easy transition into doing hair for bands and even going out on tours like Warped Tour and to the Masquerade. Her clients include and have included members of Shinedown, Saving Abel, Marty Manous, Fervor, Anarbor, and many others. As much as Melissa loves music, she is also a geek at heart even having a Star Wars Wedding in the 2013 Dragon Con Parade. Rogue is named after the sexy, inspirational, bad ass “Rogue” from Xmen, one of the first hairstyles Melissa was known for! (that signature white-blonde streak in the front of Rogue’s hair) She is very involved in the geek community sponsoring steampunk events to burlesque shows and of course you will always find her at Dragon Con. And in 2015 got to work with Monster High by Mattel creating real life Monster High inspired hair as seen through social media. Rogue Hair Studio is like no other merging music, art, fandom, lifestyle, and fashion with hair.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being able to adapt and change is what has propelled Rogue forward and upward in this industry. In order to grow you have to change and that can be uncomfortable at times but we have amazing, loyal guests who continually challenge and inspire Rogue.
Rogue Hair Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We believe in helping people express themselves through image. To some their dream hair might be long violet and fuchsia waves, others it may be a fire pixie, or even golden balayage long bob. We are here to make your hair dreams become reality. We ask the questions, what have you always wanted to look like, what has been your favorite hair, favorite color, style, how do you see yourself? The people who are attracted to Rogue have reached a turning point in their lives, they want to be different, they are tired of settling for someone else’s version of themselves. They want to express who they are, to us Rogue is a lifestyle. Owner Melissa Eppers is a dry cut artist who custom designs colour for each client.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Maintaining a business that is debt free and knowing each guest is satisfied with the quality of work and products at Rogue.
