Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Mason-Jones.
Daniel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My husband and I worked together at a big salon company in Atlanta for a few years and wanted to share our dream of owning our own salon company with the industry that we love. So, 13 years ago we founded Muse Salon and Spa. We both had a vision of a company that focused on growing and nurturing up and coming beauty experts into successful artists. While doing that we really wanted to always believed that giving back to the community and helping causes that we feel very passionate about would lead us to a successful company that everyone would not only want to do business with but would draw the right people to come and work alongside us. I not only live this everyday in my own company, but I travel every weekend coaching and mentoring other salon owners and beauty professionals on how to be more inspired and successful while doing the job they love.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not always. Any business is going to go through some struggles while they find their way. And not all people are going to be on board with your vision, even if they say they are. You just press forward with your ideas, always being fair and honest with everyone around you. We just make sure that our brand is clear to everyone and that we all are on the same page as to what that means.
Muse Salon and Spa – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We specialize in luxury hair and skincare services. We use the very best and most advanced products in the industry from Loreal Professionnel, Kerastase Paris, and GM Collin just to name a few. We are most proud of the team of amazingly talented artist we have assembled and their passion for giving all of our guests the very best experience that any other salon company can offer.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is defined by how well you are respected by the people you surround yourself with. If you are a source of strength and leadership, success will follow. People want to do business with people that take care of them.
