We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alex Beano. Check out our conversation below.
Alex , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
What Makes me lose track of time now a days is starting on new content. It really doesnt matter what it is, from working on promo, music, or videos i always get lost in it lol. I could really sit from morning making beats till its dark outside. When you have a strong love or passion for something it never feels like work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I go by the name Alex Beano. Im a music producer/artist born in Indianapolis, IN. Im currently in the south now out in Atlanta, GA. I moved here back in 2020 but been on and off here from Orlando. I own a record label by the name of Radiant Family Records and mostly put out albums Ive produce with artist. My latest album Smile is a mix of hiphop, house and soul and that came out back in 2023. Currently I am working on a new album Soul Soprano 2 which will come out some time this year. Feb 14 I will be releasing music for the first time in 3 years and it is a single featuring Chase Aaron and WeslyNorth called Keep In Touch.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Thats really a good question. I feel like who I am now has been in me for some time but i had to develop some life skills and go through a few things. I had always had this passion for music since i was little. I use to be in front of the camera alot when i was young from dancing, acting, or just being me. I think things went full circle for me once i left and went to college and met people just like me but understood i had something different about my approach on life and how i went about making music. One key moment i remember is when i first won a producer battle. I had went by myself and all and ended up winning. I just remember the next day waking up to like 100 friend request people reaching out to me, it was crazy lol. i think at that moment changed a lot on how the world was looking at me and woke me up to who I was or who I was going to be.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Honesty, these last three years have been on and off, I had almost thrown in the towl but there was something in me that still had hope. I had hit a few road blocks that had paused me on doing music but at the end of last year i had sat with myself and thought about everything i had went through and how it has helped me develop new skills and also new reasons on why i shouldnt walk away from music. I feel like back then i didnt have the story but now i know for sure i have a story behind my path to success that the world needs to hear. Most importantly I figured out why the world needs my music.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Weather you meet me doing music or meet me doing something us i will always be the same person. That is something a lot of my close friends and family can say. I strive to be my true self always and be who I am. I dont put on a mask for people or for attention and some times that can make me or break me. At the end of the day if I was meeting somebody for the first and last time I would want them to experience the real me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I feel like my legacy would be misunderstood but how quick things will happen for me. A lot of the time people see the overnight sussess but never really knowing how long it actually took to get there. Its always easy to show the ups but not as much as the downs and most people could care less. I think my story is more about over coming then just putting out music. Each piece of music i put out tells a story or really a soundtrack to a place in my life. Its my way of creating something that can be timeless from now to the future. Even the skits i use in my songs a lot of the time is my inner self speaking when the tongue can not. My legacy is the soul, passion, and vision i create with the music. Something that can be felt just not today but even years from now. People sometimes forget what they did but never forget how they felt in that moment.
