Alexis Lunsford on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Alexis Lunsford shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Alexis, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Our home life. I have two young children and building their childhood is so important to me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Alexis Lunsford. A wedding photographer based in Atlanta, GA, but love to travel to beautiful destinations for my couples. I capture clients in their most authentic and beautiful state. With an ability to help people feel at ease in front of my camera, this allows me to create images that feel natural, effortless, and artistic. By blending an editorial look with a documentary style, I deliver photographs that reflect genuine emotion and timeless beauty.

I strive to stay true to myself. In a saturated industry, authenticity and passion attract the right clients and collaborators. I am proud of the personal growth I’ve experienced as a creative… Moving away from chasing others’ visions and instead embracing my own unique artistic direction. Since I’ve comitted to seeking to capture the wold as I see it, my portfolio now reflects not just technical skill, but my deep commitment to meaningful storytelling!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My mentor. With teachings that encouraged me to be authentic, I was able to combat the thief of my artistic joy, comparison.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, absolutely. Many time I wondered if I was “good enough”.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I am working on this one. I am an introvert and deeply guarded around new people but as time goes on I have realized being myself is freeing as well as beneficial.. I will repel those who don’t align and attract those who do align with me🤍

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Working too much.
