Alfred Collins’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Alfred Collins shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Alfred, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I would say prayer, getting in the presence of the Almighty God. Giving thanks for all that He is, and all that He has done and still doing. To me it’s the best way to start my day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Alfred Collins, also known as chef AC. I have started my personal chef business, Bangin Creation by Chef AC. It’s a really good feeling being able to do what you love to do. God has blessed us all with gifts and talents, and it’s up to us to serve them up to the world. My story begins with learning to cook from my parents, something I would watch them do constantly. What makes Bangin Creation so special is that I aim to give my clients an experience that they will never forget. I understand that I’m not only cooking for them when I enter into their homes, but I’m being apart of their special occasion.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I just had to work and paid bills. Know I understand that life is much more then that.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, I think everyone feels that way at some point in life. It’s when you feel that nothing is going your way, or you may feel that you need someone to validate you. It can also be when it seems that other people are succeeding when you’re not. To me, I just have to remember to speak what I’m becoming.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
That I’m a child of God, and God says that He knows the plans that He has for me. Jeremiah 29

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m doing what I was born to do. It may take a little while to find it, but once you do and believe in yourself. You have just shifted your mind to believe that you were sent here on earth to do something special. To leave your mark, so that people will know that you were here.
