We’re looking forward to introducing you to Candis J. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Candis, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I begin my mornings by intentionally stepping into God’s presence — through prayer, focused meditation on His Word, or reading the Scripture He places on my heart. Sometimes it’s worship, sometimes it’s quiet reflection, but it’s always deliberate. Starting my day with Him isn’t just a habit; it’s the foundation of everything I do and the reason I’m able to show up fully in my work and life.
I’m also purposeful about preparing my workspace. A clear, organized environment helps me stay centered and ready to take on the day. I truly believe that when your surroundings are in order, your mind has the freedom and clarity to operate at its best.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Candis J, and I’m a Digital Entrepreneur with a heart for helping business owners thrive in the online world. I support entrepreneurs through services like Social Media Management, Digital Strategy, Executive Support, and even a Digital Culinary brand — which some of you may remember from my last article.
My journey didn’t start in the digital space. I spent nearly a decade in retail and customer service while in college. Those years taught me how to understand people, serve with excellence, and stay grounded. Over time, I realized I was called to build something that gave me freedom — freedom to create, to work from anywhere, and to use my gifts in a purposeful way.
Today, every part of my work is rooted in faith. My brands are built on the belief that Jesus is the center of all I do, and that purpose and impact are the true markers of success. As I continue to build I keep these values as my core.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
For a long time, I believed the idea that you had to pick one career and stick with it forever. Growing up, people would ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and we’d choose one title — a doctor, a firefighter, a teacher. Without realizing it, that mindset boxed many of us in before we even had the chance to explore who we really were.
As I’ve grown, I’ve learned that God didn’t give us multiple gifts and talents by accident. We weren’t created to shrink ourselves or fit neatly into one label. We serve a limitless God — One who equips us to do more than we could ever imagine.
So that old belief that I had to choose just one path? I let that go. I’ve learned that being multifaceted isn’t a flaw; it’s evidence of God’s intentional design. People love to say, “jack of all trades, master of none,” but the truth is, God gives us the time, the seasons, and the grace to master what He’s called us to — and sometimes that’s more than one thing.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I want to be real for a moment, because I know I’m not the only one who has dealt with this—the fear of people and their opinions. For a long time, I let the possibility of what others might think hold me back. And honestly, if we poured the same energy into building as we do into worrying about outside opinions, many of us would see so much more progress much sooner.
A few years ago, I had to lay that fear to rest and remind myself who’s truly in control and who my source is. That mindset didn’t change overnight—it’s something that still tries to creep up from time to time. But doing the inner work, understanding where that fear comes from, and continually giving it to God has helped me step into a whole new level of freedom and confidence.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I love this question because when I first saw it, it made me laugh a little. But after reading it again, the answer came instantly: God. Whenever I bring my ideas to Him, He has a way of expanding them, reshaping them, or dropping something completely new into my spirit. It never ceases to amaze me how He moves, guides, and steps into my creative process. Every time, I’m reminded that I’m not building any of this alone.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I’m finally in a place where I don’t look for outside validation anymore, because I know who I’m really working for. As long as He’s pleased, I know I’m right where I’m supposed to be. Now, of course, it feels good when people cheer you on and celebrate with you—but I’ve learned not to depend on that. I don’t need anyone to confirm an assignment God already placed in my hands.
