We recently had the chance to connect with Cchico Bailey and have shared our conversation below.
Cchico, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day simply starts w/ a work out.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cchico Bailey I am a celebrity stylist. I style high profile talent for red carpet events, photoshoots, etc. What makes my brand unique is that I have an eye for what looks good on my client & we go through a whole creative process to ensure my client & I are on the same page.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
This is a great question. I was someone who thought I had to be like everyone else around me. This is someone who goes to work everyday, clocks in, & works to live. The more breakthroughs that I’ve had the more I’ve realized I am who I truly believe I am which is a superstar celebrity stylist w/ the work to prove it.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
That failure doesn’t really exist. Failure is a lesson for you to learn so you can persevere. I live by this simple motto “Can’t stop, won’t stop”.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My career. They will tell you I’ve been at this thing for a very long time. I think my commitment & drive towards it has made them rethink what really matters to them as well.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I love this question. I’m definitely doing what I was born to do. I was ALWAYS into fashion I just never knew until college, it could be a great career. Also, learning as I went, where I could really go with it. Doing what I was told to do would be working to live and retiring at 65. No ma’am no Pam! Not over here. In this lifetime I’m definitely doing what makes Cchico Bailey happy.
