An Inspired Chat with Charles S. Walker of Lawrenceville

Charles S. Walker shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Charles S., thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work what has been bringing me joy lately is the fact that I live closer to my kids. I spend a lot of time with my younger 2 now. They come over often and spending that time with them brings a lot of joy into my life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Charles S. Walker. I’m a project manager, cyclist and an aspiring actor.
I’m currently looking into getting a talent agent and pursuing acting full time.
What makes my journey so interesting is that late last year (2025), I had to put everything on hold for a little while. I had 2 back surgeries during the back half of the year. Fortunately the recovery was quick and went well. After about 2 months I was almost back to normal activities. I was very blessed.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I believed that being skinny/slim was not a good thing. People would always tell me how “skinny” I was. So many people would do the thumb and pointer finger thing around my wrist to show how small my arms were.
Now that I’m older, being slim worked to my advantage. While most are gaining weight and having trouble keeping it off, I get compliments often saying how well and in shape that I look.
Now I believe that being slim worked to my advantage.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back the most in my life was being away from my kids for long periods of time. I’ve always shied away from careers that could keep me away.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friend would probably say what really matters to me are my kids and sneakers. LOL. I’m a real big sneakerhead.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel the most at peace when I’m out cycling. It’s a breath of fresh air. Nothing else matters.
