An Inspired Chat with Cornelius Andrews of Stockbridge

Cornelius Andrews shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Cornelius, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Would I hire me? Good question! I’d say “yes”. You need someone who’s hard working, knows what they’re doing and shows up on time.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cornelius Andrew and I am an actor, voice actor and stunt performer in the film industry. From past few years I’ve worked on projects like Black Adam, Snapped, For My Man to getting lead roles on films like Mad City and Game of Cards. I am currently working on projects like Twelve Guages Gemz, and learning a script for a musical play called Rooted.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Honestly before the acting career. I was told I was never going to be anything in life while I was in the military. One day my First sergeant asked me if I going to reenlist. I said “no it’s time for me to continue my journey (I was playing football getting into college at that time) I told him that I would like to be an actor. First Sergeant just laughed and said I won’t be in anything after I leave the military.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The time I almost gave up was about 2023 where was I not gettting work and I was falling behind on some things.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Family, my craft, Kojak my frenchie. People I really love and are close to me.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, even though at certain times I fell like I have no support behind me. I still carry on and give my best. I learned that you don’t need others praise for your validation.
