Daisy Cuellar shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Daisy , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
First off, a big thank you to Bold Journey for having me for this interview.
My day usually kicks off at 6:40 a.m., when I wake up and get ready for my 9-to-5 corporate gig. As soon as I get to work, I log in and treat myself to an iced caramel macchiato with almond milk—big shoutout to my amazing barista Marybeth, who’s honestly the MVP.
From there, I focus on completing my tasks and staying productive throughout the day, making sure to stay organized and efficient to get everything done.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
For those new to my story and may not already know me,
I’m Daisy, the face behind Fiesta Feliz Photobooth.
Our branding features a purple flower with five petals surrounding the central pistil. The five petals symbolize each of my sisters, while the center represents my little brother, who is no longer with us.
We chose the flower because he would often pick flowers from our yard and give them to us, a small act of love that means a lot to me.
One thing that makes me unique is that I am the second of six siblings.
“Fiesta Feliz” translates to “happy party,” and I want the name to resonate with party lovers and party goers alike. It’s a reminder that we’re here to celebrate and to provide the service that makes moments special.
This is the vision I’m building with my team of four, which proudly includes my niece, Natalia.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I used to be a very timid, nerve-wracked young woman, just striving for growth. I was born in Miami and moved to South Georgia after high school, eventually making my way to the city.
If anything, Atlanta has shaped me and helped bring out my best self. I’ve become brave and determined, traits I believe I’ve inherited from living in this city. You really have no choice but to develop resilience unless you’re okay with the world tearing you apart.
Never let anyone dictate how or who you should be! Remember, you are always exactly who you need to be.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Experiencing suffering has deepened my empathy and helped me understand others better, while also instilling in me the awareness not to let anyone take advantage of me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The photobooth industry is highly saturated, and while many believe they can master this craft, that’s not entirely the case.
For me, it’s about quality over quantity.
If you want to succeed, you can’t cut corners or be cheap, patience and dedication are essential.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If immortality were real, I’d dedicate it to saving all the dogs! I have a profound soft spot for dogs and, honestly, for all animals. I’d love to help clean up our planet and protect what remains of its natural beauty.
Many people don’t realize just how breathtaking this world truly is and what it has to offer.
My dream is to create a joyful sanctuary where both animals and people can find happiness and peace.
