We’re looking forward to introducing you to Daphne Marie. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Daphne, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is… I wake up around 5:45 am and help get my granddaughter ready for school. When her and her mother leave around 6:40 am… I usually go back to sleep. Wake up around 8-9am, make a pot of coffee, brush my teeth, wash my face, fix a cup of coffee and sit on my porch (if it’s not too hot or not too cold). Most days I also smoke a cigar. I then get on my laptop, engage some on social media. I then work on content for a few hours and attend any meetings I may have. My granddaughter gets home around 3p and has her snack. Then we work on her homework. I cook and get her ready for bed. Once my daughter gets off work around 9p we watch some tv and then I’m in bed around midnight. I fall asleep around 1:30a and then start all over again. The weekends are different but for the most part this is my schedule.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Daphne Marie, the founder of The Chic Glamma Lifestyle Brand and creator of the term Midlife Styleficiando™. My brand is all about helping midlife women reinvent themselves from the closet out—because style isn’t just about clothes, it’s about confidence, identity, and stepping into the next chapter of your life with intention.
My story is one of reinvention. After a long marriage, divorce, single motherhood, and seasons where I felt lost in who I was, I decided to rebrand my life. I stopped waiting for a fresh start and became it. That’s the foundation of The Chic Glamma—guiding women who are in transition through closet therapy, style strategy, and personal branding so they can rediscover themselves and show up as their boldest, most authentic selves.
What makes my work unique is the way I blend style and soul alignment. I don’t just curate wardrobes; I help women heal the relationship with themselves, remove what no longer serves them—whether that’s in their closets or their lives—and create space for their next level. It’s transformation disguised as fashion.
Right now, I’m working on expanding the brand through digital products like my Closet Therapy course and the 25-Day Chic Rebirth Ritual, as well as curating community through my tribe, the Styleficiandos. I’m also stepping further into luxury lifestyle experiences, brand ambassadorships, and events that connect women to both style and self-care.
At the core, my mission is simple: to remind women that midlife isn’t an ending, it’s a reset—and it can be the most stylish, powerful chapter yet.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest moment of feeling powerful was when I was 11 years old. I was raised in Islam and we were attending Saviour’s Day that year in Chicago. The lead for out Jr. MGT class didn’t show up. I stepped up and led the class. I know at that moment the power I possessed.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
There’s been two…
The death of my father. And in honesty I haven’t healed from it. My dad was the only person I could completely depend on. He was my first teacher.
The other wound would be the loss of a relationship I had with someone for 30 years. Someone I thought would be a part of my life for the remaining time. I’m still healing that loss as well. It’s a struggle but I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.
However, what these two wounds have showed me that I can continue on.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes the public version of me is the real me. It takes too much energy to have multiple versions of oneself. And as long as you are true to you and aren’t a horrible human, you should be you in all situations.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
I don’t regret not doing anything. One thing I say all the time, everything I’ve experienced throughout my life has made me the woman I am today. I may not have done some things I’ve wanted to do, I may not be where I want to be but I’m exactly where I am supposed to be… I trust the process.
