An Inspired Chat with Kenny OD of Atlanta

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kenny OD. Check out our conversation below.

Kenny, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I would hire myself a million times over due to the unwavering passion and relentless work ethic I bring to my productions. My father once told me, ‘Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.’ I firmly believe that if I continue to push myself at this pace, success is imminent. I’m confident that my dedication and drive will pave the way for good fortune, and I’m excited to seize every opportunity that comes my way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kenny OD, CEO of Kenny OD Studios, based in Atlanta, Georgia. As a producer, I’ve had the privilege of working on impactful projects like ‘Friends Like Sisters,’ ‘The Bitter Sugar, and ‘Living in the Cemetery.’ My passion lies in crafting original stories that linger in audiences’ minds long after the credits roll, sparking meaningful discussions and reflections. I’m grateful for the support of my team and the blessings that have brought me to where I am today. ‘Living in the Cemetery’ is currently streaming on major platforms worldwide, and I’m excited to announce my upcoming project-a TV series titled ‘Hate,’ which promises to delve into thought-provoking themes and narratives. I’m looking forward to sharing my work with your readers and continuing to push the

boundaries of storytelling.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My dad taught me the most about work. He’s the most hardworking and relentless person I know. Growing up, I was inspired by his dedication to his company-waking up at 4 am and working till 1 am. He showed me that diligence and perseverance are key to achieving your goals. His work ethic has been a constant source of motivation for me, and I strive to emulate his dedication in my own pursuits.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
As a child, I often struggled with anxiety and worry, but one thing that brought me comfort and healing was the Bible. At just 7 years old, I discovered the power of scripture, particularly the book of Psalms. Whenever fear or sadness crept in, I’d turn to its verses for solace. To this day, the Bible remains a source of strength and peace for me, helping me navigate life’s challenges and find calm in turbulent times.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’m intellectually stimulated by art in all its forms, which is why you can often find me attending stage plays or listening to poets deliver their work. My passion for creative expression extends beyond my professional life and is a significant part of who I am. Yes, the public version of me is the real me – a lover of the arts, particularly storytelling through film.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My truth! Beyond the name and fame, I believe it’s my convictions that truly define me, not my artistic prowess. I’ve dedicated my life to standing by these principles, and I want to be remembered for them long after I’m gone. Material possessions, no matter how lavish, are fleeting – but the truth I’ve discovered and lived by has been my guiding force through life’s challenges, and it’s what I hope to leave as my legacy.
