An Inspired Chat with Monet Wright of West End

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Monet Wright. Check out our conversation below.

Monet, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Who are you learning from right now?
Right now, I can confidently say that I am learning from myself. This year (2025) has really shaken my beliefs about life as a whole. Learning from past experiences and circumstances, I find myself currently navigating. The best part about it is that I am not learning from the things that “I need to watch out for in the future” from people and situations (boo tomato, tomato). It is the discovery of who I am as a person. The things that I stand on, holding true to that and only that. As long as I stay genuine in my intentions, I have to allow. Allow life to show me the truth. Allow myself to be myself.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Peace and greetings! My name is Monet Wright, and I am a creative digital designer. a facilitator of ideation, a creative strategist, a visual artist, and a digital design editor. In my most recent position as a Senior Graphic Designer/Contractor, I have worked on several initiatives for nonprofits, education, and the private sector, designing for social media, marketing, conferences, and communication. I have taken on special projects for data visualization and infographics for a prominent university, as well as. bids for city initiatives, through my wonderful friends over at HCC.

Personally, the last couple of months I have been working on launching my own professional development workshop offerings, designed to highlight how art strategies and processes that creatives use can very well be the bridge between operational gaps that cause roadblocks within a team of professionals.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
MYSELF! I believe that I can be successful, abundant, loved, wanted, sought after, intelligent, influential, compromising, intentional, in shape, healthy, and happy. I have learned that you really have to believe. You can show up every day, do the things, say the things, but you have to believe. And you better not believe in what others put on you more than what you know!! After you believe all you have to do is trust yourself. Trust and believe in your intentions.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
ABSOLUTELY! A couple of weeks ago (lol). But I know myself. I am resilient, and dramatic, and I know when it’s time to call something quits. Is not time yet. So we vent, purge, then recoup. Just like life’s cycle. “GET UP CRAIG”, is what I say to myself. If you know, you know. I’m just enjoying the ride.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?

The only thing in life that is inevitable is CHANGE.
It’s okay to go through things as long as you don’t look like what you have gone through.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My integrity. How I show up in the world for myself and people in general. The love I have for my family and friends, and the love they have for me. Everything I have learned and experienced. All the hard work, resilience, silent battles, silent wins, achievements, losses, travel, and loneliness have made me who I am. All the important stuff will remain. All the stuff that matters. My mind and my power remain. That can never be laid down by me or anyone else.
