We recently had the chance to connect with Racha Aimach and have shared our conversation below.
Racha, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
It is when I walk in to my studio or to the event space. When I’m at my studio and I start mixing colors and using the different materials I have for my decoration, I completely lose track of time. I lose my self in the flowers, fabric, and paint. I only feel colors, light, and fabric.
I use a trick so I can keep record of the time I spent. I start a playlist and place my headphones on. When the playlist is finished, it means one hour passed. That is why you will see me always setting up with headphones on!
And when I’m done I look at the setup once and watch how I feel about it. If I feel something is missing, I keep going, then take a picture to make sure it doesn’t only feel fabulous but also looks great in the pictures. As I’m not only decorating for a party, I’m also making a memory.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Racha Aimach, I’m the artist and founder of fabyoulista, an event decoration company.
Fabyoulista is specialized in party decorations and backdrops. We started years ago only doing balloon garlands or arches . But now we grew a lot in volume and in the variety and types of detailed designs we do now.
Fabyoulista was only sepecilized in balloons and now we build our own sets.
Someone can order a simple balloon arch or a full decoration for a party, a backdrop, centerpieces, and much more.
When we started, it was mostly birthdays, baby showers and bridal showers, now it is grand openings, corporate events decorations, even city events and much much more.
Simply I’m in the party decoration business to bring jaw dropping effect to any celebration.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
As days passed and years passed, I KNOW it is never one single moment that switched the lenses that I view the world with.
But one that really changed how I see the world was the time of the Covid epidemic, when we were forced to stay apart from our loved ones, neighbors, and in some cases parents .
I learned what real connection is all about, what celebrations are all about, the effects of loneliness on a human being, and how weak yet strong we are.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
It is ok. I accept you the way you are.
You are learning and growing. You can never know everything.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Which public version ?!
I have so many. It depends on where I am and whom I’m with.
But they are all me, the real me.
At work, you will see the professional business lady in charge.
With my book club, I will be the one who takes a lot of notes she wants to discuss.
With my kids, the mom who cooks and takes care of homework.
With my friends, I’m the one who loves to plan their next hiking trip or karaoke night.
So yes it is all me! They all have one thread in common: loving the joy life brings with it.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
I don’t have regrets on not doing something, except maybe not going to the World Cup in Qatar (I still think that was a unique event that shouldn’t be missed).
I deeply believe that if anything is meant for me, I am given the opportunity to do it; and if it’s not meant to happened no matter how strong and courageous I try to make it, it will never happen.
I know that I do my very best in every filed in my life, so I don’t have any regrets.
