Raven McCree shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Raven, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Normalizing treatment toward all people with dignity and respect. I believe when we speak out about issues and stand up for ourselves and our communities, we contribute to a stronger, more unified society. Connecting with others—especially by learning about different cultures and backgrounds—fosters empathy and helps bridge the divisions that have deepened in recent years.
I truly believe that understanding can be taught. The more we share our experiences and take time to educate one another with compassion and grace, the more we move toward a world that values every individual.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
my name is Raven McCree, I’m an upcoming Actress and I love to entertain. I’ve always love to do anything creative whether it is dancing, acting, or creating content, I really love bringing joy to others and expressing myself through art. I would say my brand is all about expressing yourself and having fun. Embracing all your flaws and never letting any fear or disappointments stop you.
I think what’s interesting about Acting that most people don’t realize is that is really is intertwined in many different areas of entertainment. Acting includes Theatrical opportunities, Commercials, Modeling and Print Modeling, Movement or Dancing. It really is a forever learning and growing job that you will always have to walk into work everyday with an open mind and a creative style. It also challenges you physically and mentally in ways that you may not expect. I don’t want to say that you have to be carefree because you do need to care but you can’t have anytime of fear of embarrassment. Acting is a safe space where you can really expand on your creative choices and there’s really no wrong answer, its more of what relates and is authentic to you and how that can express and relate to others.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Honestly, I think it was when I was in Kindergarten, I had gotten in trouble and was sent to the Principal’s office. While I was awaiting my Principal’s arrival and I remember being so scared and nervous but knowing that I was going to state my case, stand up for myself, and explain the way my teacher had made me feel in the moment. LOL I will never forget the following conservation she had with my mom about me at that time and years later she told me once I got older. She said my personality was so determined and ambitious that when she walked into her office she thought that she was the one in trouble. She said that I had strong presence and personality that she knew one day I would be doing something important for other people. I want to say within the same years of elementary school, I had a Teacher say, “you know what you may become the first Women to be President of the United States. ” I’ve always had a strong presence and passion for what I believe in but standing up for others and being able to impact others lives by expression has always made me feel strong and gracious. It’s not always the easiest thing to do but it is very rewarding.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are one of a kind and it’s okay to be different. Being loud, silly, and so optimistic are all traits that make you, you. You are a game changer and it’s okay to accept it.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Becoming a full time Actress. I don’t care how long it takes, I am enjoying the journey and life that comes along with it. I’m dedicated to living my dream job which is doing what I love everyday. It’s my future and I believe it’s the way I’ve always expressed myself throughout life.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Overthinking and instead living in the present more. I’m sort of already changing my mindset from a strict timeline and strict set of goals and just doing exactly what I want to do. As I’ve been doing all of the things that I truly desire it’s almost like that pieces that I’ve been chasing are lining up together like puzzle pieces.
